I was a maintenance worker for three years at General Motors for a general contractor 1996-1999; I also have three years as a maintenance millwright at Ford Motor Company for a general contractor 1991-1993, and have two years as a mechanical troubleshooter for industrial plants having machinery problems. I have over 8 years as a project manager/salesman, superintendent. I also have a total time of four years in coal, gas, and nuclear power plant experience from repair of turbines; generators to belts, valves etc...Please see job history. 10-1-08 to 2-9-09 I was recently laid off along with my shop crew from Industrial Accessories Company in KC MO as Filtration Product Manager - They closed the manufacturing plant due to tough economic times. I was in charge of building bag houses for power plants from managing the shop personnel to purchasing tools and materials to detailing general assembly drawings. 10-16-06 to 9-15-08: I was the operations manager for a fabrication company in mid Missouri named Cooks Fabrication they have recently been renamed Custom Fabrication and Equipment. I managed the drafting department, some field operations on projects that I had sold, sales, and shop fabrication activities. I sold around $ 5.5 million since I was hired in October of 2006 for this company. 9-1-06 to 10-16-06 Dearborn Midwest Conveyor Company I was hired for the Council Bluffs, IA project as a number 2 superintendent to help expedite the completion of a large project on schedule. We made the deadline and I was laid-off upon completion. I became aware of an opening in Sedalia MO area which was very close to my house and called for an interview and was hired as there operations manager (Cooks Fabrication). I have worked several times for this company over the last 20 years and they are always pleased with my job performance and would hire me back if they had the work. 10-1-05to 9-14-06 Alberici Constructors I helped JS Alberici at Intier Seat in Excelsior, MO as a millwright then at the Ford Truck Plant in Claycomo, MO. as a General Foreman. I was in charge of over 200 men on this project (I had over 10 superintendents under me and 20 foremen). I was laid-off towards end of September due to the companies lack of contracts in the KC area. I have worked for this company several times over the last 20 years and they have always been happy with my job performance and would hire me back if work load permitted.
3-02-05 to 9-02-05 Western Industrial Contractors I was a field supervisor in charge of equipment installation at Postal Facilities all around the US. Job duties included schedule completion, manpower, working with tech support, and company liaison between Western and sites. Jobs were completed successfully and I was laid off after I completed the LA, CA PD&C the largest project they had in North America at Postal Distribution Centers. I spoke with them recently and was told they would hire me back if they had any work. 4-15-03- to 3-02-05 Siemens Westinghouse I was a Field millwright/ Foremen at different power plant projects in Missouri. I was laid-off due to lack of work in the Kansas City area. I was sent out through the union hiring hall. 9/20/01 to 4/3/03 International Fabricators & Erectors I was a junior project manager who was assigned projects by a senior project manager Ken Moraine. I was responsible for quoting, purchasing, rental equipment, man power, and supervising detailing if needed. Lake City Ammunition Plant (PM of whole .223 and .50 cal system) (My largest single project for International from start to finish was over $375,000.00. This project was the first one that I sold and managed by myself. I managed half of these and did design detailing. 9/20/01- 1998 DMW Conveyor CO I started working for Midwest Conveyor in 1993 as an apprentice millwright and again in 1998 for Dearborn Midwest Conveyor when they again landed a large conveyor installation project at the Kansas City Ford plant. They called me and asked me if I would like to work for them during the shutdown. After working for them for most of the year I was approached by their lead superintendent and he asked me if I would be interested in applying for a position in there Kansas Office as a Warranty Inspector for the Automotive Department. I was hired for the position and traveled all around North America inspecting automotive facilities. I worked for them for more than a year when the Kansas office was closed and all work was rerouted through the Michigan office. Over 100 people let go at plant closing due to downsizing. I was offered to transfer to MI office but at same pay rate. This was not a very good offer financially for me so I declined.
