EXPERIENCE
FIRSTHEALTH OF THE CAROLINAS, Pinehurst, North Carolina 2008-2009 Director Planning, Design and Construction Firsthealth is a three hospital healthcare network covering fifteen counties with over 4000 employees. Responsibilities included all planning, design, regulatory compliance and construction. Projects included a new heart hospital, energy plant, new full service hospital, hospice hospital, hospitality house, radiology renovation, emergency room renovation, doctors offices, and numerous other healthcare projects. Was responsible for maintenance for all facilities off the main campus.
ST. CLAIRE REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER, Morehead, Kentucky 1999-2008 Chief Planning and Facilities Officer St. Claire Regional Medical Center is comprised of 1300 employees, a full service hospital and five off-site clinics. Responsibilities include day-to-day operations of the hospital Facilities, Security Management, Property Management, supervising maintenance, utility, construction and security personnel. Complete management of all Strategic Facility Planning, architectural design, construction, and renovation projects. Serve as Safety Officer and on the Infection Control and Disaster Committees. Complete Environment of Care compliance responsibility for JCAHO successfully completing JCAHO Surveys. Part of the Design team for the twenty eight million dollar Education Center as a joint project with the University of Kentucky and Morehead State University. Renovation of the complete hospital, including Radiology, Emergency Room, all Nursing Stations, Physical Therapy, Endoscopic Suite, Womens Center, Rehabilitation Department, Pharmacy,

Designed and Constructed the Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, which included Sleep Lab, Radiology, Lab, Physical Therapy, Physician Offices, Weight Loss Center, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy. Expanded Cancer Treatment Center in a joint project with the University of Kentucky for the installation of a new Linear Accelerator.
APPALACHIAN REGIONAL HEALTHCARE (ARH), Lexington, Kentucky 1986-1998 Corporate Engineer (Vice President Engineering and Operations) ARH was a 5000 employee health care network operating in three states with twelve hospitals, over 1300 licensed beds and 65 medically functioning buildings. This Executive level position administered Strategic Facility Planning, design and construction of hundreds of projects including the 308 bed, Regional Medical Center and 100 bed psychiatric hospital; resolved all environmental issues; liaison with building code officials; completed all regulatory requirements; produced new telecommunications system; implemented and managed biomedical engineering program; administered energy conservation and grant awards; and managed budgetary and operational needs via Maintenance Supervisors and union employees, on location at the hospitals. Administered staff through 44 successful Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations surveys.
TULANE UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER (TMC), New Orleans, Louisiana 1983-1986 Director of Maintenance and Operations Administered Facilities Management including; operations, maintenance, construction, Strategic Planning, architectural and engineering services, housekeeping, and telecommunications. Supervised 210 staff employees. TMC included the Hospital, Medical School, academic and research facilities, dormitories, and clinics for Tulane University.
DOW CHEMICAL, Breaux Bridge, Louisiana 1979-1983 Plant Manager/Engineer Manager of engineering, architectural services, maintenance, construction, Strategic Planning and operations staff in a petrochemical and pipeline operation. Served as Plant Safety Director.
SCHLUMBERGER WELL SERVICES, Lafayette, Louisiana 1978-1979 General Field Engineer Managed teams to perform computerized exploration in a complex intracoastal petroleum industry.
