Responsible for code compliance, Policy and Procedure updates and changes, Life Safety Management, General Safety Management, HAZMAT Management, Security Management, Quality Management, and Utilities Management. Responsible for Management of daily business of Plant Operations, Grounds and Security. Construction Management. Coordinate operations of Facilities Engineering, Security and Environmental Services (Housekeeping) departments. Supervise operations of Materiels Management. My duties included providing administrative leadership, to Supervisors and staff, develop and coordinate budgets for operations and capital projects and harmonize department operations to support and improve the clinical services provided to customers of the hospital. It also included developing and providing training to staff, updating of the facility procedures and infrastructure to meet Life Safety Codes, JCAHO and other regulatory agencies and requirements such as IDPH, OSHA, IEPA and insurance providers. Update of facility and systems to requirements of Fire Marshall for compliance. Establish programs for preventive maintenance. Manage maintenance and repair services for entire facility to include systems, Boiler Plant, Steam & Gas Turbines, HVAC, Refrigeration, Electrical systems and components - cogeneration, medical equipment, PLCs - Plumbing systems maintenance/repair, telephone systems and devices, equipment troubleshooting and repair, emergency generators, switchgear, fuel storage and supply systems, kitchen and laundry equipment and systems, grounds/landscaping equipment, lighting, etc. Oversee remodeling and construction projects and installation of new equipment and systems. December 1986 - July 1991 - University of South Florida Psychiatry Center - 3515 East Fletcher Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33613 - Supervisor of Plant Operations. Actually performed the job and duties of the Director who was terminated in 1989. Establish policies and procedures for new facility. Management Team: establish management policies with team for facility. Implementation of Total Quality Improvement program. Establish procedures for facility preventative maintenance and routine inspections. Compliance with JCAHO, HRS, FEPA, OSHA, Fire Marshall and insurance providers. Coordinate operations of Plant Operations, Housekeeping, Security and Grounds/Landscaping. Organize, schedule and assign preventive maintenance work orders. Establish maintenance procedures and checklists. Promoted to hospital Plumber after serving 1 year apprenticeship under predecessor. Remained hospital plumber until layoff in May 1984. December 1976 November 1979 Active Duty United States Army Basic training: Won AUSA American Freedom Spirit Award and high ballistic score for the cycle. Was made Squad Leader after first week. Scored Expert on M16 rifle and Colt model 1911 45 automatic pistol. Nominated for Trainee of the Cycle. Received 96B10 MOS Intelligence training school in Ft. Huachuca, AZ.: Map reading, compass grid location azimuth training. Assigned as Intelligence Analyst to 24th Infantry Division Headquarters G2, Ft. Stewart, GA. Duties included personnel security investigations for base personnel security clearances. Performed weekly officer briefings on world situation with Soviet Union. Intelligence gathering on Russian military equipment and personnel and persons of interest. Training responsibilities with 1st of the 75th Ranger Battalion staff, U.S. Marines and Special Forces Units involved in tactical debriefings on search and destroy mission observations and opposing forces tactics after exercises. Provided OPFOR situation setups for their training exercises and participated in exercises with them using blank ammunition and other simulated munitions and weapons. Responsible for military transportation equipment assigned to G2 for deployment and training exercises. Served as Intelligence Net radio operator for field exercises providing updates on troop and equipment movement and persons of interest. Two way communication with helicopter and fixed wing aircraft pilots for target acquisition designations and information.
