I am an accomplished, 35-plus year veteran of the heavy civil, grading and land development construction community with experience in Southern California and Nebraska.
Since starting my career in 1973, I have methodically stepped up to higher and higher levels of responsibility built on a strong foundation of training and experience.
I am recognized by my peers as a key business professional and long-term member of the industry, and have earned a reputation of experience, competence, knowledge, problem solving and a solid ability to clearly understand and articulate the nuances of heavy civil project development, construction and completion.
Skill Set Summary
Since 1996, I have focused on project operations management and technical services using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Project. My office experience includes utilization of AGTEK Earthwork Takeoff Systems and Timberline Estimating Software.
I have held management positions as an Interim Director of Land Development, Land Development Manager, Estimating and Technical Services Department Manager, Senior Purchasing Agent, Senior Estimator, Project Cost Analyst, and other support positions.
I am very familiar with managing a staff of up to 60 individuals in various situations of field and office operations and is comfortable in communication via letter or presentation formats, as well as technical and contractual writing.
Furthermore, I am proficient in field heavy equipment operations, a result of operating a wide range of grading related machinery, as well as working in close proximity to equipment used for integrated development operations, such as, excavators, loaders, pavers and cranes.
Of particular importance, I have accumulated many years of experience as a mid-level manager in the field, holding positions of Superintendent and Project Foreman with contractors and developers.
Away from the daily activities associated with heavy civil construction, I have accumulated experience in public presentation skills as a teacher and presenter. I am very comfortable in front of large and small audiences and relate well to all levels of individuals in public and private group settings.
