Responsible for all marketing, design, sales, estimating and project management duties. Increased annual volume from $150,000 to over $1 million and established a design center and showroom.
Project Manager (9/2003 to 12/2004) G.T. Leach Construction, Inc. Responsible for all day-to-day administrative construction activities for The Hotel Icon Project, a historical building conversion. Challenges included meeting requirements to maintain buildings historical status and coordinating scope requirements for various entities, including Bank by Jean-Georges (restaurant) and Whiskey Bar.
Project Manager (1/1996 to 12/1998 & 9/2002 to 9/2003) Pepper-Lawson Construction, Inc. Responsible for all estimating, scheduling, budgets, contracts and management of various projects in the Industrial Division. Projects completed include Northside Wet Weather Facility, East Water Purification Plant Optimization and Upgrades Project, EWPP Railcar Enclosure Project, EWPP Architectural Improvements Project, EWPP Ground Storage Tank Renovation Project. While all projects were completed successfully, several of these required construction claims against the City of Houston or other ownership entities. My duties included claim preparation and analysis.
Project Manager (10/1999 to 9/2002) Century Development Responsibilities included management of pre-construction and construction activities, including consultant selection, program management, pre-construction design management, contractor selection, budget implementation, schedule management, construction monitoring and commissioning. Responsible for on-site management for Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, a major project consisting of a 2650-seat performance hall, a 500-seat acoustic performance theater and a separate administration building. Approximate cost of this project was $85MM, excluding soft costs. Responsible for construction management duties for 1000 Main, a 36-story, Class A office building located in downtown, Houston. Cost of building shell was $89MM. Also, responsible for management of tenant improvements for Reliant Resources, the prime tenant. The cost of the interior work was approximately $25MM. Other projects included pre-construction on several hotel projects in Puerto Rico, including Sheraton (600 keys) and Mandarin Oriental (250 keys). Also managed Renovations to Palmas del Mar Clubhouse Project in Humacao, Puerto Rico.
