PROFESSIONAL OBJECTIVE:

To provide services related to accidents and personal injuries in construction and general industry including accident investigation, analysis, and cause determination, and consultation, research and expert witness services specializing in matters involving worksite safety and the application of OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, procedures and policies and also USACE EM 385-1-1. With 20 years of experience and a desire to facilitate change in organizational safety, risk management and loss control programs, it is a belief that the practical and professional experiences shall enhance any safety culture.

Direct day to day operation of full service consulting firm that conducts safety audits and inspections throughout the United States. Marketing, business development and fiscal strategies are part of my duties. The company was actually founded in 1998 but I have not worked it completely full time until this period of time. Duties have also included accident investigations, fatality investigations and depositions/testimony for various workers compensations and general liabilities claims throughout the United States. My duties have included jobsite inspections, audits, job sit orientations and onsite safety management for numerous contractors throughout the United States and Canada. Have been responsible for the selection and training for all personal fall arrest systems for the following projects. Fall protection plan development and training for all effected employees and subcontractors was conducted by me. I also have trained as a fall protection subject matter consultant to provide fall protection training by two different manufacturers. They are DBI/Sala and Miller Fall Protection.

Project Safety Officer for a $280M construction project at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD. The included day to day safety management of all contractors and recognizing safety hazards. Conducting of all site employees and supervisor of site access control contractor. Participated in contract review and pre construction meeting plus approval of subcontractors accident prevention programs.

1996- 1998 Program Safety Engineer (Hensel Phelps Construction)
Program Safety Engineer for CCIP (Contractor Controlled Insurance Program) project for Smithsonian Institute. This was a project for a new National Air and Space Museum in Chantilly, Va. The duties included: Supervision of administrator of CCIP program, employee orientations, accident investigations, accident prevention program development, contract review for safety requirements, site audits and inspections and management training for safety and health.

1994-1996 Regional Safety Director (CDK Contracting)
Reported directly to Corporate Safety Director and Executive Vice President in matters related to safety, health and loss control. The position covered the Southeast United States and projects in 7 states. I was responsible for enforcement and training of the corporate safety program and the supervision of 4 Site Safety Managers. I was responsible for handling all OSHA inspections and citations along with participating in all depositions that were required in relation to lawsuits and claims for all projects within the area of control. Program development for this divisions including the following: Fall Protection, Confined Space, Zero Energy State (Lockout/Tagout), Crane Awareness and Rigging. All of this training program were written, developed and implemented by me in my capacity of Regional Safety Director.


1992-1994 Director of Safety (Impact Quality Services-Owner/Shareholder)

Responsibilities included acting as corporate EEOC officer, employee benefits manager, onsite safety inspections, claims management, contract review and business development. I served in many capacities in a start up company that specialized in high hazard industrial construction and maintenance. Duties were necessary to be carried out throughout the United States. All claims, lawsuits and disputes related to workers compensation, general liability and builders risk were handled by me. I also wrote the corporate safety program and fall protection program for all operations.
