EXPERIENCE
November 2002 to Present Real Estate Services Birmingham, AL - Independent Real Estate Consultant. My clients are primarily Telecommunication Companies. Since May 2008 I have been working on a Cricket project in the Washington DC/Baltimore/Northern Virginia area. I completed my work assignment on a Cricket Communications Project in Birmingham and Huntsville, AL in April 2008. In 2007 I did the preliminary scrub for Cricket Wireless Projects in the Gulf States area and completed a Clearwire project in Salt Lake City, UT., and completed a UMTS project for T-Mobile, Birmingham, AL & Memphis, TN. From 2002 thru 2006 my responsibilities were for Site Acquisition/Real Estate related work on various Verizon Wireless Projects located in Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana.
October 2000 to 2002 Tetra Tech Wireless, Inc. (formally Whalen & Co.) San Francisco, CA , and Birmingham, AL Responsibilities included work on the Milwaukee Metricom Project, as Site Acquisition Manager. I completed my Leasing assignment in February, and was assigned to the MetroPCS Project in downtown San Francisco, I completed that assignment in June 2001, and moved on to Verizon Wireless Projects and SprintPCS projects in Sacramento, CA., I completed that project in September 2001, as a Project/Site Acquisition Manager and then moved on to several Verizon Wireless Projects in Louisville, KY, Indianapolis, IN & Cincinnati, OH as a Real Estate/Site Acquisition/Project Manager based in Birmingham, AL.
April 1994 to October 2000 - General Manager/Qualifying Broker, Byrd Development Companies, Inc. Birmingham, AL. Responsibilities encompassed Property Management, Site Acquisitions, and Development of Commercial Properties in Alabama and Tennessee. These properties included anchor retailers such as Kroger, Winn-Dixie, Sears, Parisian, Delchamps, Rhodes Furniture, Blockbuster Video, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, CVS Drug Stores, Wendys, Checkers and many other fine retailers. August 1987 to April 1994 - Leasing Manager, The Byrd Companies, Inc. Birmingham, AL. Responsibilities included Leasing New and Existing Office and Retail Properties. Site selection and acquisition for fast food companies such as Checkers, Shoneys, Wendys, McDonalds, Applebees, Subway Sandwich and local restaurants.
January 1986 to July 1987 - Real Estate Manager, Wendys International, Inc. Columbus, OH. Responsibilities were Site Acquisition/Selection and Negotiation for restaurant locations in the Southeast. Most of the deals were purchase, ground lease, and build-to-suit deals.
May 1983 to December 1985 - Asset/Property Manager, Daniel Realty Corporation, Birmingham, AL. Responsibilities included Asset Management, Property Management, & Acquisitions of Commercial Properties. Office Properties in my portfolio (15,000,000sq.ft.) included syndicated as general partner, fee for clients, and corporate owned in AL, CA & FL
