Experience includes Architectural, HVAC, mechanical design, petroleum piping, water piping, fire protection piping, industrial gas compressor, telecom central office, telecom outside plant, cellular phone towers, structural and civil; from multi-million dollar projects down to a hundred. I am proficient with drafting softwares using X-refs, 2-D layouts, 3-D Solid Modeling, 3-D Wire Frames, Block Definitions, and Plotting. Senior Piping Designer DCCK Engineering, Inc., August 2008 to January 2009, Bakersfield, CA
DCCK Engineering, Inc provides engineering services to the oil and gas companies in California, Wyoming and Colorado. Designed piping systems for oil well extraction, dehydration and transport of crude to shipping facilities. Used PDMS to review other designers work, checked drafting, material takeoffs and design consistency. Worked with customer engineers, project managers and facilities to complete projects.

Senior Piping Designer Rentech Inc, November 2007 to February 2008, Commerce City, CO
Rentech Inc is a clean energy solution company using a proprietary process that converts coal, biomass and other carbon stocks into diesel and other liquid fuels. Used the P&IDs to generate isometric drawings using Autodesk CADWorx Plant, and AutoCAD 2008. Worked directly with the Process Engineers to develop and modify P&IDs to reflect changes directed by piping layout and isometric drawings.

Project Estimator Continental Research & Engineering, April 2007 to June 2007, Englewood, CO
Continental Research & Engineering is a consulting firm that specializes in chemical weapons destruction engineering technology. Worked directly with the Army Corp of engineers, Government employees, and Military Intelligence and Bechtel Engineering employees. Completed Piping and Valves estimate for the PCAPP project in Pueblo Colorado.

Mechanical Designer Raytheon Polar Services, January 2004 to May 2004, Centennial, CO
Raytheon Polar Services is the primary general contractor for the United States Antarctic Program, handling all three of the USAs main Antarctic bases. Coordinated with engineers and Project Managers for all aspects of drafting and design for all three bases; Palmer, McMurdo and Scott-Amundsen South Pole. Designed mechanical, architectural, telecom, electrical, piping, civil, survey and demo plans for any and all projects current within the construction project. Specifically focused on the Elevated Station, 8-mm telescope, dark sector, civil snow-burm locationing and McMurdo HVAC systems. Used AutoDesk Building Systems.


Field Engineer Verizon Wireless, September 2003 to October 2003, Greenwood Village, CO
Verizon Wireless is the largest provider of cellular phone service in the country. Performed field verifications on cell sites across Colorado and Wyoming. Completed As-Built drawings, database management and equipment documentation. Documented existing equipment and space for new equipment and expansion. Trained coworkers on AutoCAD usage and database shortcuts. Took digital photos of interior of buildings, towers with microwave transmitters, Omni transmitter direction and site orientation.

HVAC & Piping Designer Cator Ruma & Associates, March 2003, Lakewood, CO
Cator Ruma & Associates specialize in the design and construction support for industrial buildings HVAC and piping for other large-scale projects. Provided project support to Engineering team for a short-term one-week support contract. Duties included water piping layout, PFDs, P&IDs, CAD drafting, document control, HVAC Design, and plotting of drawings to coincide with Cator Rumas internal document requirements.

Piping Designer Conoco Refinery Inc., August 2002 to October 2002, Commerce City, CO
Conoco is one of the worlds largest producer and distributor of petroleum products. Worked on site at the Conoco Denver Refinery on the OSHA compliance for piping safety project. Used Inspectors red lines to manage database entries and update piping drawings. Used UltraPipe, a third party software that works with AutoCAD, to manage and link database information to drafting files for maintenance and tracking.

Senior Piping Designer Gas Packagers, December 2001 to February 2002, Denver, CO
Gas Packagers is a large-scale industrial gas compressor engineering and manufacturing facility. Compressors are built for oil refineries, United States naval vessels, DOE, DOD, flammable gas shipping companies, power plants and geothermal facilities. Designed piping, fittings, suction scrubbers, evaporation filters, suction and discharge tanks, compression cylinders, vendor motor drawings and outlet gas coolers. Worked with engineers and manufacturing managers to ensure designs to be cost effective.

HVAC & Piping Designer Parsons Engineering, March 2001 to April 2001, Denver, CO
Parsons Engineering specialize in the design and construction support for industrial power plants, DOE, DOD, and large scale projects. Provided project support to the Rocky Flats Environmental Clean-up Project. Duties included water piping layout, PFDs, P&IDs, CAD drafting, document control, HVAC Design, and plotting of drawings to coincide with Rocky Flats document submittal requirements. Worked directly with DOD project managers and engineers, and also RFEC project managers and engineers for Permacon enclosure to handle radioactive materials and waste products. IBI Group is an international company that does telecom engineering, transportation engineering, and architecture project management throughout the world. Lead Engineer for Beaverton, OR and Vancouver, WA AT&T Central Offices infrastructure. Coordinated with Electrical, Structural, Mechanical and Architectural consulting firms for multi-disciplined projects. Calculated power requirements for DC and AC powered equipment, safety factor, cable sizes and voltage drops for runs. Used X-refs as a design tool.

Design Engineer US West/Qwest Communications, April 2000 to August 2000, Littleton, CO
US West are the largest of the Baby Bells in area and first to follow the FCC regulation to allow collocation and line sharing for their Competitors. Completed the FCC requirements to engineer and install line sharing for their collocators in all Central Offices. Engineered, wrote scopes of work, ordered materials, provided installation support, performed field verifications, trained coworkers and field engineered. Field verified Central Offices equipment and updated databases to reflect actual conditions.

Design Engineer Cactus Integration Group, November 1999 to March 2000, Denver, CO
Cactus Integration Group engineers and installs telephone communications equipment for telecom companies such as Level3, Baby Bells, AT&T, MCI WorldCom and many others worldwide. Used AutoCAD R14 to draw 3D solid models for standard details to be included in design packages. Set up drafting standards to be included in company policies to become certified in the new TL9000 certification. Engineered Central Office and ILAs designs for customer collocations and facility network equipment.

Design Engineer Universal Solutions Inc., May 1999 to November 1999, Aurora, CO
Universal Solutions engineers and installs telephone communications equipment for many telecom companies nationwide. Project managed, engineered, field verified, drafted and coordinated Central Office projects from start to finish. Provided engineering to field installers and accommodated customer requests to facility standards. Engineered material lists and scope of work for projects to accompany AutoCAD drafting packages.

General Services Administration provides administration for rental space to Federal, State, and Local government agencies as well as private companies nationwide. Completed walk-downs, measurements and drafting of Buildings 20 & 41 of the Denver Federal Center. Used X-refs and Paper Space as design tools.

Mechanical Designer Air Methods, September 1998 to December 1998, Englewood, CO
Air Methods designs and builds custom helicopters. This includes engineering, drafting, manufacturing and maintenance of customer aircraft. All manufactured parts were drafted in AutoCAD 3D primitive solid modeling. Followed FAA and MIL standards for all engineering documentation.

Piping Designer Merrick and Company, June 1998 to August 1998, Aurora, CO
Merrick and Company provide engineering and architectural consultation to companies Nationwide. Gave project support in the field at the Colorado Refinery Company in Brighton, CO. Duties included field walk-downs of new projects, as-builts of old projects, the drafting of all piping engineering drawings, and trouble-shooting of any computer related problems.
