SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE: Senior Project Manager, Project Manager, Lead Project Engineer/Supervisor
Bantrel Co. (Bechtel), Calgary, Alberta, Canada 2006 - Present SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER in a progressive, integrated Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Company for Suncors Voyageur Coker Project (220,000 bpd Canadian oil sands primary upgrading). Project Manager as part of a management team that actively led a $2.5 billion EPC mega oil sands project consisting of a 450 person multi-discipline EPC team. Served as Deputy/Backup Project Manager for the Coker project for one year. Actively led weekly management team meetings attended by discipline managers from Suncor and Bantrel. Led establishment of an aggressive overall EPC detail schedule consisting of well over 5000 activities. Successfully provided monitoring and control of the 500 Engineering Work Package (EWP) execution deliverables for the six engineering disciplines. This team successfully executed the first half of the detailed engineering phase of the project, exceeding all four incentive milestones set forth in the Bantrel EPC prime contract with Suncor.
Project Manager leading a team for Electrical Heat Tracing and Insulation, managing and coordinating engineering design and procurement of EHT deliverables by a well known Alberta heat tracing company for the Voyageur Coker project. Successfully transformed a $40 million effort that was initially behind schedule into an on-time set of EHT deliverables required for 193 modules, 250,000 feet of piping, 236 vessel/tanks, heat exchangers and pumps, 425,000 feet of heat traced cable and 96 skid mounted control panels. Manager of Six Sigma continuous improvement effort on the Voyageur Coker Team. Process Improvement Projects in 2008 by the project team saved $2,500,000 for Suncor and $300,000 for Bantrel. Engineering Permitting Coordinator on the Voyageur Coker Team. Permits for 13 on-site buildings/modules were successfully prepared and submitted for approval to the authorized Canadian permitting authorities.
Eastman Kodak (Kodak Colorado Division), Windsor, Colorado, U.S.A. 1998 - 2006 PROJECT MANAGER for a wide range of projects to provide equipment, utilities and chemical processes for the lean manufacturing of photographic x-ray film, motion picture film, thermal imaging paper and color paper.
Managed 36 multi-faceted projects at Eastman Kodak Co. totaling greater than $100 million, generating returns of well over one billion dollars. Technical areas include film slitting, chopping and packaging, chemical solution manufacturing, automation, material handling and thin film coating applications. Led and directed all phases of the project management life cycle including strategic planning, conceptual design, alternative generation and selection, detail design and release for construction, construction management, debug and commissioning, start-up, project closure and phases and gates follow-through. Prepared and presented proposals to obtain Kodak management approval and funding.
