SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Accelerated a build-out. TPZ had 18,000 sf of underutilized space in a 50,000 sf warehouse distribution facility, which it was leasing to a church that needed it configured on a rush basis. Collaborating with the tenant, general & subcontractors, supervised design and construction. Completed the project on time and 5% under budget.
Strengthened competitiveness at Insituform. Recruited to improve performance, saw missed contract opportunities. Instituted process improvements. Enhanced collaboration with subcontractors. Honed pricing and refined bidding/proposals, sharpening competitive edge. Secured several high-value municipal/state infrastructure projects.
Won $750K contract with creative solution after a fire. A major fire threatened devastating business interruption for car dealer. Devised a temporary solution to maintain operations, siting temporary trailers onsite to house offices. Solution convinced client to hire JSF for rebuilding. Fast- tracked reconstruction. Client lost only one week of business.
Overcame weather delay in $2M highway/bridge project. Behind schedule due to severe storms, TLCC faced litigation in VA state bridge project. Pursued an out of court settlement, reaching agreement on pricing and timetable adjustments. Despite length and severity of storms and damage to the site, completed project within the new timeline.
Innovative solution to a building challenge. Owner of a two-story mixed-use commercial building hired JSF to add a third story with requirement that construction have minimal impact lower-floor tenants. Working with engineers and architects, devised design and project plan, allowing construction with virtually no inconvenience to existing tenants.
Solved quality & materials issues in 80-acre construction project. TLCC faced challenges with a large parking lot under construction. To control costs, preparation of stone sub- base and concrete was being done onsite, but quality failed to meet TLCC or client standards. Devised process and formula improvements, bringing mix up to standard.
