From 2006 to August 15, 2009, I was employed as a Senior Construction Project Manager for the University of Miami where I was assigned to manage the construction of a 1,500 car, 10-story parking garage, a new state-of-the-art, energy efficient, Central Energy Plant, and a complex underground utility piping project. The Central Energy Plant consisted of three 4,000 ton chillers with space for two future chillers; and three 2.8 megawatt generators with space for two future generators. This Central Energy Plant is the second largest in South Florida. Todays design and construction industry is very competitive and demands construction management professionals who are able to complete projects on schedule and within budget, and I have accomplished a proven track record. My 25 years of experience enables me to manage a large team of interdisciplinary professionals and lead them to complete a successful project. After more than 25 years in this field, I find that my management skills have steadily increased and, at this time, I am prepared to accept new challenges and opportunities. I managed hospital projects from inception to completion including the design, construction, complex underground chilled water pipes, communications and electrical duct banks, and customer relations. Interfacing with architects, clients, staff, contractors, and vendors; and providing technical support, project budgeting, value engineering and scheduling were a large part of my job description.

From 2002 to 2006, I was employed as a Senior Construction Project Manager for Jones Lang LaSalle where I was assigned to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. While employed there, I was responsible for the underground utility duct banks as well as the renovations or construction of major hospital projects.

I have continuously studied the profession of project management for many years and have undergone intensive training; and attended numerous seminars, classes, and specialized management courses. During my long career, I have learned that the profession of project management is a balance between art and science and it takes a person many years of first-hand experience in order to become effective and to excel. I would consider moving to another location for a challenging opportunity.

I have spent the past 25 years in the design and construction industry serving in many different capacities beginning from a superintendent for the renovation of a high rise hotel... to a construction business owner... to a senior construction project manager for a large international real estate project management firm. Senior Construction Project Manager / Owner's Representative with responsibilities that included managing the construction of a 1,500 car, 10-story parking garage and complex Central Energy Plant (second largest in South Florida); and managing the design and construction of the underground utility loop located throughout a very congested medical school campus. The entire campus was excavated in order to install the pipes without any incidents of breaking existing utilities or seriously disrupting automobile and pedestrian traffic. Much of my efforts during the managing of the design and construction was risk management and risk mitigation and this was the major reason for the success of this project.

Operations Manager / Senior Project Manager with responsibilities that include managing the entire operations for an out-of-state general contractor. We completed a multi-million dollar renovation project at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Palm Beach. I oversaw approximately 30-35 project managers, superintendents, trades foremen, and skilled tradesmen.

Senior Construction Project Manager/ Owner's Representative with responsibilities that include managing the design of a $60,000,000 Rehabilitation Hospital, managing the design and construction of a $30,000,000 Radiology Department renovation, and managing the design and the construction of a $38,000,000 Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for Jackson Memorial Hospital. These very complex projects included the site work and underground utility relocation of existing vital hospital services such as medical gases, communications systems, chilled water and steam lines, and emergency electrical services. My position involved the planning, design and construction of new and renovation projects with concerns such as patient safety issues, infection control, interim life safety, medical gases, medical equipment replacement and upgrade, agencies-having-jurisdiction permitting, and complex communications and electrical systems. I have experience working with healthcare clients, physicians, and medical user groups and I have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of construction practices and techniques, project controls, medical equipment, AHCA and JCAHO agency requirements.

Due to market saturation and financing constraints, the owner postponed future developments.
