Skill set
I am a builder; my tools are my mind and my hands. I am a Carpenter, Cabinet maker Photographer, Photoshop Operator, graphic artist, Print Production Specialist.
Carpentry
In my collage days, I worked for a general contractor building costume homes in the Weston and Reading area for two years and as a framer building mostly garrison colonials for a year. While working in the print industry in 1987, I bought a 1920shandy man special. I did 95% of the remodeling work myself; this kept my weekends full for many years. In mid 2001, I decided to go back into construction. My first job was in high-end residential remodeling. At this job we gutted and rebuilt some beautiful homes in the Westbrook area. After that, I was invited into cabinet making by a business associate. Being a visual person with skilled hands I adapted quickly. I enjoy making a peace as perfect as one can. Working from a drawing taking a piece of raw wood and turning it into something is a lot of fun. I am now a highly skilled finish carpenter and cabinet making.
Photography
I have been a photographer since 1985; I am highly skilled specializing in still life and jewelry. I have professionally photographed many deferent things from people to architecture to cars and more. During my career I have photographed work for clients such as Brinks, Macys, American Tobacco, James River, Cartier, Napier and
Graphics
I have hands on with graphic production, from taking the photo through printing. I have worked for my own clients as production manager producing printed pieces up to 32 pages. I started working with Photoshop in 1999. Through my work experience I am an accomplished user, especially my retouching. My B.A. is in graphic design and photography.
AutoCAD
I took a collage course in Auto Cad 2006; I earned an A- in the class. By the end of the class I was feeling comfortable with the program and able to complete my assignments correctly and in a timely manner. The course I took was part of the schools engineering program. All of our assignments were mechanical type drawings. I also worked free lance two Months using a cabinet making program.
Problem solving
This is what helps me do all the above. Be the problem in building something in three dominions or one, often it comes down to my creative thinking that gets the job done and in the end getting the job done is the bottom line.
