I would like to start in January 2011 with a new company. I am primarily looking for a Management position in Commercial Drywall Estimating and Project Management, but will consider other positions in the Industry that will utilize my experience. I currently live in San Antonio and would prefer to find employment here, though I don't mind traveling if the position requires it. While it has been tough here the last two years, it has been tougher elsewhere, as evidenced by all the new companies moving in. My belief is that SA, and South & West Texas will be the place to be in Texas as the construction market improves. I appreciate your consideration and look forward to hearing from you. I have 32 years experience in the Drywall and Acoustical Industry and for the past 14 years I have been employed in San Antonio, Texas. Estimator / Project Manager Commercial Drywall & Acoustical; Experienced in, Estimating, and Project Management, Office Management Schools, Hotels, Theaters, Hospitals, Core of Engineer, Retail, Lease Space Proficient in Quick Bid & OST, Word, Excel, Outlook, BXTX, iSqFt, etc What I have to offer in experience;
- Over 20 years hands-on field experience, from helper to General Superintendent.
- Successfully bid and sold millions of dollars in projects from lease space to hospitals and trained or assisted in the training of a number of new estimator/PMs. Notable SA projects include; The Palladium Theater at the Rim, The Vistana Condominiums, Christus Santa Rosa Hospital at Westover Hills, Guadalupe Regional Medical Center in Seguin, Randolph AFB Fitness Center, and many more.
- Project Management experience includes; Schools, COE projects at Ft. Sam & Randolph AFB, Hotels, Theaters, Hospitals, and Retail. I also have experience in assuming crisis management and PR on projects previously managed by others with general contractor and work force issues.
- Assisted in the set-up and management, from the ground up, of a new San Antonio branch office building and warehouse of a Houston based company. Including the temporary office location and setup as well as overseeing the eventual transfer to the new office. I Coordinated both office and field operations with the home office and helped establish and train an experienced field work force for the new SA branch, and new field superintendents, foremen, warehouse, and office personnel.
- I previously developed a simple system for interoffice & branch/home office bid coordinating & tracking, and project management scheduling that is easily accessible to selected personnel from the internet. I have also developed my own Excel sheet for calculating various field production requirements based on labor cost. In addition, I have cleaned up and reorganized the Quick Bid databases at two different companies.
- I have personally interviewed and hired hundreds of field employees over my career and have been involved with the interview process of various office staff, vendors, estimators, and project managers.
