PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Woodard & Curran, Inc., Duluth, GA2007 to 2009 Civil Engineer / Project Management
Provide support for the Civil and Environmental Engineering Group supporting municipal and industrial projects. Work focuses on preparing reports, specifications, bid documents, cost estimates and various field responsibilities. Participate in designing and managing water, wastewater, and site development projects. Other responsibilities include writing environmental and preliminary engineering reports, working with clients to secure permits, completing design calculations, and preparing stormwater management and erosion and sedimentation control plans.
Respond to EPA request for information relative to stormwater and process water discharges. Prepare Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and Notice of Intent to comply with Georgia Storm Water General Permit. Utilized hydrologic modeling software to compare the pre-development flows with the post-development flows to demonstrate that the post-development flows for various design storm frequencies did not adversely impact properties downstream. In addition to the evaluation of peak flow rates, water quality measures were also provided. Served a large industrial client with the design development phase from conceptual design through the completion and approval of permitting with both local and state authorities. Tasks performed include site layout and design, detention facility design, utility layout and design and environmental permitting.
Rochester & Associates, Inc., Atlanta, GA2005 to 2007 Lead Project Engineer / Project Management
Responsible for the production of residential and commercial development construction plans from concept to full design while balancing the competing demands of quality, time and cost, standards and regulations, and customer expectations. Provide design guidance to staff engineers and create scheduling and budgets for individual projects.
Provided water quality solutions meeting the requirements of state and local governing authorities. Championed complete site permitting efforts achieving first-pass acceptance and exceeding customer expectations. Strategic delivery of projects on time and under budget; mitigating unexpected project transitions while maintaining initial scope deliverables and schedule. Generated a comprehensive watershed master plan for a 1,700 acre golf course community.
LAI Engineering, Marietta, GA2004 2005 Project Engineer
Ensured the completion of projects within budget and to the technical standards of the company and municipality regulations. A majority of the projects presented challenging site and budget constraints and required fast-tracking to meet client deadlines. Conducted feasibility studies for potential developments, which included preliminary construction cost estimates.
Storm drainage system, sanitary sewer system and other utilities design/layout using AutoCAD LDD software Completed comprehensive watershed planning and designs for large and small developments Design of erosion control management practices at various phases
Greeley and Hansen LLC, Norfolk, VA2000 2004 Project Engineer
Evaluated existing citywide sewer system conditions to provide direction for field study. Performed cost-benefit analysis and researched best practices to maximize the efficiency of storm water controls. Project scope included planning studies, oral presentations to non-profit organizations, regulatory permitting, final design, and services during construction and start-up.
Supervised the productivity of 5-man subcontractor teams during field data collection activities; the results of which served as the foundation for project team analysis. Oversaw the production and publishing of a comprehensive sewer evaluation report for the city; which remains the standard template for future public works operations. Integral resource for a twelve-year project with a capital cost of $122M; providing innovative approaches to advancing the companys industry acumen.
