BIS Wind Power 0409 0609 Lead Tech. Performed gear box change outs on Vestas V82. My responsibilities were to make sure All the gear box components were installed and commissioned properly. Also made sure all the Riggers were using and inspecting the correct rigging for the task.
RES 0608-0309 Turbine Installation Field Manager Responsibilities included making sure all rigging to perform all crane activities were on site or track them down. Also make sure our sub contractors comply with the installation manual of the turbine. Keep all cranes working at all times as possible. Only give suggestions how to proceed on the task and do not demand. Keep good working relationship with the customer. Supervise all mechanical walk downs, punch list crews. Also keep a spreadsheet on deliveries, erection on daily bases.
Horizon Wind Energy (GRAN ITE) 0407to0508 Owner Field Engineer Abilene, TX Responsibilities included, deliveries of tower components, supervised all construction crane activities such as Offloading of components, erection of base and mid crew, rotor assembly, and the main crane which erect the top, nacelle, and fly the rotor. Also mechanical walk downs, with the tower manufacture and BOP. Owner inspections, also made sure the BOP followed all the procedures and guideness of the supplier manual and specifications.I was also over the tower wiring crew.
Qualified Contractors Incorporated (QCI) 0306 0207 Foreman Abilene, TX My Responsibilities included, taking down rotors with bad blades. I would over see a ten-man crew, made sure they rigged correctly and used the correct rigging and inspect prior to use. Then the blade contractor would fix them and turn the rotor back over to us to. After the completion of the blade repairs, moved on to another site and performed some services on GE turbines. I would over see two crews, the activities they would perform were to change oil filters, and grease inserts on blades, grease yaws, Test emergencies stop buttons and clean the turbine 100% dust, grease and oil spills. Also ran a Cable Drop Crew on GE 1. 5 Gen 3 (Bus Bars) turbines.
D. H. Blattner & Sons 1205 0206 Foreman Avon, MN giving the responsibility of overseeing the construction of the erection of the tower and the rotor assembly also grout of the base section. Made sure my employees would torc the tower as the manufacture specified in the assembly specification (Manual). After our task was completed my crew and I would travel from site to site and perform the same tasks. On some sites, I would be responsible for Mechanical Completions (MCC) I would walk down the towers and made sure all of the items on the Punch List were fixed. After the items were fixed, I would turn the certificates to the owner for payment of the erected tower.
Run Energy 1004 0905 Lead Technician Houston, TX My duties were to make sure the retro fits were performed correctly how the manual required them to be. The duties were gear box change outs three month services, semi annually and annually. Services included change oil filters, 10% torc overall tower. We torced the tower sections, nacelles and the rotor. Also checked for any leaks in the gear box and checked the gears for any shavings For six months my supervisor sent me to QC (Quality Control) some tower sections at the factory before delivering the to the site. My duties were to catch any item that was left behind or not in the tower section. Looked for the cosmetic issues missing bolts, cut wires. Also checked for any porosity in the welds, bent ladders and platforms.
Energy Maintance Services (EMS) 0304 1004 Field Technician St. Cloud, MN Performed services and construction of tower sections, retro fits and maintance on tower sections. Erected base. mids, nacelles and flew rotors. Aligned generators with a manual and lazar tool kits. Tenching of anchor bolts. Replaced bristle brushes, bad gears, and yaw pucks. 100 hour retorc on blades.
D. H. Blattner & Sons 0199 - 0204 Field Technician Avon, MN Rigger on the topping off crew, my duties were to inspect my rigging before use and rig up to the tower sections. Made sure, the crane was level and the radiuses of the crane to the components were intolerance to make the pick. Checked if the Shackals were the correct ones to make the picks.
Industrial Shutdowns 1994 1999 Iron Worker & Rigger USA Worked on power plants, refineries, and shutdowns. My duties were to connect iron and rig for pipe fitters, Boilermakers. Operated fork lifts and man lifts.
