IAP is a government contractor currently providing Engineering, Public Works and Infrastructure Management for Hanscom Air Force Base. Managed multiple improvement projects base wide. Construction management projects have included interior building renovations, exterior building improvements, and paving and site work projects. Developed construction bid documents, analyzing bids, processing change orders and resolving field issues. Managed of design projects assigned to various consulting engineers and architects. Served as liaison for a Military Construction (MILCON) projects on the base. Projects include 2 new buildings Building 1604 Acquisitions Management Facility and the new Massachusetts National Guard headquarters Facility. Duties include interaction with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Base Civil Engineering, and the building contractor, coordination of construction activities (road closures, power outages etc.). Provided supervision and guidance to junior engineers and direction as needed to field personnel.
Project Manager Paulus, Sokolowski, and Sartor, LLC 2005 to 2008
Primary focus of position was to promote the firm and market its services in a new market (i.e. New England). Business development included preparation of proposals to prospective public and private sector clients and participation in numerous networking activities (i.e. NAIOP, ULI, ICSC, etc.) to initiate contact and establish relationships with prospective clients. Target clients included real estate developers (residential, commercial, and retail), architectural firms and other consulting firms (to form or join project teams), law firms, municipalities, and public agencies. Marketing efforts resulted in new work for the firm and the development of a substantial network of contacts within the design and real estate development industry. Prepared construction plans for residential developments, Plans included roadway layout, site grading, and drainage system & utilities design. Developed drainage models performing pipe sizing analyses using Hydraflow Hydrographs and Stormsewers software. Utilized AutoCAD and SurvCAD software for the development of plans and profiles. Prepared drainage analyses and reports for Conservation Commission review, performed peer reviews of subdivision and site plans for the Town of Wayland Planning Board. Accomplishments include development of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for roadway reconstruction projects involving MHD and RIDOT which required coordination and contact with sub-consultants and clients, Development of site/drainage improvement plans for private parties which required coordination with local DPWs in order to gain approval, preparation of final plans and cost estimate for bridge replacement projects (All plans were developed using AutoCAD), development of a state required Emergency Action Plan for a privately owned dam in New Hampshire, and business development efforts which included attendance at project briefings and preparation of formal proposals and statements of qualifications to various municipalities. Made use of various software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Exel, Microsoft Word, and Wordperfect operating from DOS, Windows, and Windows 95.

And the MBTA, Design and analysis for various aspects of the Logan Airport Terminal Area Roadways project. (i.e. utilities, civil, cross-sections, quantity estimates etc.), provided oversight and direction to CAD operators,. Made use of various software packages such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT, LOTUS, and Wordperfect.
Town Engineer - Town of Wakefield, Massachusetts Department of Public Works - 1993-1995
Supervised an engineering staff, preparaed and managed budgets, developed of solutions to public works related problems (i.e. road conditions, drainage etc.), developed, reviewed and approved plans specifications and cost estimates for public works projects, reviewed and analyzed of bid tabulations, recommended for award of construction contracts, interacted and coordinated with other DPW divisions, Town Departments, Boards, & Commissions, State agencies, contractors, and the general public in order obtain approval and permits and/or facilitate the completion of various projects. Served as consultant to the Planning Board. Attended all Planning Board meetings in order to provide technical assistance, review of all proposed subdivision and site plans presented to the Board, and interaction and coordination with developers, legal representatives, and the public. Position required working knowledge of Massachusetts subdivision control law as well as local subdivision rules, regulations, and approval processes.
Senior Civil Engineer - City of Richmond, Virginia, Department of Public Works - 1989-1993
Accomplishments included preparation of contract documents, development of roadway improvement designs including curb & gutter and sidewalk improvements, roadway reconstruction, parking lot design, and drainage improvements. Accomplishments included performance of hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for bridges and culverts using the Rational Method, USGS method, and the SCS TR20 computer program for hydrology and the HEC2 computer program for hydraulics. Development of hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for new bridges and culverts as well as in-kind bridge replacements for review by regulatory agencies. Technical review of analyses prepared by consultants. Preparation and review of stream diversion plans for bridge and culvert replacement. Preparation of permit applications for submittal to state and federal regulatory agencies such as the Maryland Water Resources Administration and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
