PRESTOLITE WIRE CORPORATION - Paragould, Arkansas (February 1998 to April 2001) Manufacturer of insulated copper wire and cable products for the automotive, telecommunication and appliance industries.

Environmental Engineer
Developed and managed EHS programs, including EPA, RCRA, SARA, and OSHA. Advised senior plant management and technical staff on emerging environmental concerns and direct compliance initiatives resulting in superior environmental and safety performance.

Co-authored capital appropriation request for $150,000 pertaining to safety and ergonomic issues. Items included the elimination of electrical hazards, machine guarding & ergo fixes, new EXIT doors and lighting, and new platforms & guard railings around machines. This project was the first of its kind in the ten years history of the facility. Project completed on time and under budget.

Ensured compliance of regulatory reports pertaining to Title V air emission inventory, hazardous waste activity, NPDES wastewater discharge, and SARA Title III via data collection, monitoring, and verification of inventory.

Selected and directed engineering consultants in the development and implementation of Emergency Response Plan, Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasure Plan, Title V Air Permit and NPDES Wastewater Discharge Permit all resulting in enhanced environmental protection and reduced exposure for the facility.

Corporate Environmental Engineer (May 1984 to December 1990)
Ensured corporate policies were carried out at the plant operating level. Acted as liaison between corporate and plant environmental coordinators ensuring compliance to regulations and reporting requirements. Permit writer for air and wastewater discharge permits.

Managed and completed a two-year, $2 million Underground Storage Tank (UGST) removal project throughout the corporation. Project was completed under budget and schedule resulting in savings to the company and exceeding federal program guidelines.

Lead member in conducting audits/assessments resulting in improved compliance, and reduced liability and exposure to the corporation.
