EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
United States Navy: Lawrence, KS and Newport, RI (July, 2008 Present)
Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidate (NUPOC): As a Civil Engineering Student at the University of Kansas, I encountered a thirst for more education. The NUPOC program allowed me to continue as a Civil Engineering Student with plans to attend Officer Candidate School (OCS) upon graduating, then attending Nuclear Power School as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy. Responsibilities included satisfactorily passing Physical Readiness Tests and maintaining a 3.3 GPA.
Officer Candidate: Due to a persistent injury obtained while at OCS, I was deemed not physically qualified for OCS. I am currently awaiting separation papers from the U.S. Navy. The mission while at OCS included militarization, leadership, teamwork, and uniformity.
Bartlett & West: Lees Summit, MO and Lawrence, KS (June, 2006 June, 2008)
Land Surveying Technician: I worked as a member of a survey team completing topographic, boundary, and construction surveys for civil engineering construction projects. Duties included locating and recording structures, changes in elevation, different ground conditions, waterlines, property lines, utilities, etc. Additional duties included large quantities of organized electronic and paper document filing, maintaining robotic and non-robotic equipment, and performing tasks in an efficient manner in order for projects to have a continuous pace.
Senior Engineering Technician: As an Engineering Technician, tasks ranged anywhere from assisting with a land survey to preparing final plans for submittal. I gained experience in many different disciplines within the engineering industry, such as: drainage and roadway design, reviewing as-builts and shop drawings for roadway construction projects, communicating with contractors, problem solving, creating technical reports for environmental engineering clients, continued education, etc.
