HIGHLIGHTS
Directed all pre-construction activities for a $1-billion casino hotel resort project in Las Vegas as well as a $500-million casino hotel resort project in Reno for Olympia Gaming LLC. Oversaw plan preparation for a Marriott Courtyard to be constructed at the owners existing casino. Provided team leadership, management, and construction review for a $240-million casino resort under contract with the Mescalero Apache Tribe of New Mexico for Rider Hunt Levett & Bailey Ltd.; Coordinated owner occupancy five months ahead of schedule through strict control of the project schedule and coordination with the general contractor. Saved the owner approximately $20 million in contract cost by issuing various project directives to the general contractor, which resulted in changes in the scope of work and value engineering decisions. Managed a $2.5-million signage program, including soliciting bids and coordinating signage installation. Directed a separate project to develop a sanitary sewer system to serve the primary project. Managed construction activities for a $100-million casino facility replacement and renovation project for Hollywood Casino Corp. Worked with casino operations staff to develop a construction phasing plan that minimized disruption to ongoing operations, with only 1/2 day of casino operations impacted over the two-year project. Delivered an interim barge facility early, enabling the casino replacement project to begin ahead of schedule. Generated project savings via value engineering items and an accelerated construction schedule, which freed funding for the additional construction of new facilities at the casino. Oversaw the design and construction of the renovation of an existing facility adjacent to the casino. Expanded Intervest Companies hotel portfolio by 125% through the development and opening of six new properties. Opened three hotels within 180 days; completed all but one hotel project within or below budget. Spearheaded the concurrent construction of three Embassy Suite hotels while leading a team of design consultants in preparing construction documents for multiple Embassy Suite hotel projects to be constructed in various US locations for Remington Hotel Corp.
