EXPERIENCE 25 years experience. Have built 12 new homes from obtaining permits, laying off foundation to punch out and occupancy permit. Work closely with customers, negotiate contracts, obtain all inspections, hire and interface with all sub-contractors ranging from masonry, electrical and plumbing, HVAC, sheetrock hangers and finishers, painters. Extensive experience in all phases of remodeling, decks, garages, replacement windows. Closely supervise carpentry and all other crews on the job. Student Attended Rappahannock Community College received AA degree. Attended St. Leo University Ft. Eustis , VA. Received BA in criminal justice. From 1980-1982 while attending St. Leo I worked on base at Ft. Eustis at the carpenter shop. Duties included building petition walls, hanging doors, hanging and finishing sheetrock, replacing floor tile, and operate all woodshop equipment.
Magistrate, Westmoreland County Supreme Court of VA
1983-2003
Served as on call full time magistrate, which included writing arrest warrants, setting bonds and releasing persons from jail. Worked closely with law enforcement and the courts and citizens. Directed law enforcement and citizens through the proper court process. Extensive experience in interviewing and fact finding techniques. As a magistrate of 20 years I have directed over 25,000 probable cause hearing in which I directed law enforcement and citizens through the proper court channels, which involved the issuance of criminal warrants and civil orders.
Hamlet Construction Inc. Owner/Operator 1982- Present
I am the lead carpenter for Hamlet Construction, Inc. I have worked as many as 4 jobs at one time with 2 or 5 man carpenter crews per job. As lead carpenter, I have extensive experience in reading and understanding blueprints with each job. Over many years of doing carpentry work, I have sub-contracted framing on numerous new homes, garages, additions, and remodels.
PERSONAL I have the competence, ability, and experience to handle any work that may need to be performed in residential and light commercial construction. I currently hold a Class A license #2705 07223A. Classifications ROC MBC BLD CIC HIC expiration 12/31/10. At this time in my career I want to work with others in the Construction field and not work as owner/operator of my ownbusiness
