MAJOR PROJECTS * 325Million Euro Ammonia / Urea Plants complex for consortium of M.W. Kellogg, Kawasaki Heavy Industries and KPIC * 350Million USD Ammonia / Urea Plants Complex for SAFCO (SABIC) Saudi Arabia * 600Milion USD Ammonia / Urea Plants Complex for SAFCO (SABIC) Al Jubail * 56Million USD Mechanized Urea Bagging & Shipment Facilities, King Fahad Industrial Port * Lube refinery Revamp & Upgrade, National Refinery Ltd * VCM Incineration & HCL Scrubbing Plant for Petrokemya SABIC * Tail Gas Treatment Plant for Sulphur Recovery Unit Cubatao Refinery PETROBRAS, Brasil * Sour Gas Incineration & Treatment Facility for GE Silicones / Momentive WV * Noxidizer Trains for MECS for DuPont Plant at Chevron Refinery W.Virginia Numerous other domestic and international projects.
ACHIEVEMENTS * Numerous plant projects completed. All are commissioned and operating profitably. None was ever delayed and most brought in anticipated or enhanced margin. Many customers gave repeat orders. * A 350 Tonnes/Hr product handling and shipment facility was contracted out. After completion it was able to handle 700 Tonnes/Hr. Obaid made it possible without any impact on project cost or schedule. * Obaid modified plant flare systems to use Natural Gas instead of Nitrogen. The Operating cost reduction was a saving of 16 Million M3 Nitrogen per year. * Project was facing a financial loss of USD250,000 and loss of customer goodwill when imported pipe was rejected at an advanced stage. Obaid negotiated new Win-Win terms. It prevented USD230,000 and at the same time earned customer goodwill. * Instead of building a new port terminal Obaid decided to modify existing 1.5Million tones/year facility to handle 5.0Million tones/year Urea. He successfully achieved this and in the process saved USD 15Million in capital investment plus prevented the need of additional O&M manpower.
