Successfully oversaw a basin wide watershed study, writing a storm water management and environmental master plans, the sustainability program, engineering, construction, marketing, sales, and community development, and was the Environmental Compliance officer for the Palisades, an 800-acre Sustainable Community in Charlotte, NC. The National Arbor Day Foundation singled out The Palisades as the leading national example of a new residential community based on a land plan that preserves and protects trees. The National Arbor Day Association pointed to multiple efforts taken at The Palisades to save trees during the building process as one of the best efforts in the nation to build a successful new community while protecting tree resources and other natural habitat. The National Homebuilders Association has also cited the Palisades as an example of best practices for building with trees. .
