Summary
In excess of 25 years of intensive experience in the construction industry managing large projects from estimating through closeout. Expertise is in managing all aspects of construction activity from site work through vertical construction including large, complex, multiple phase, renovation and historical restoration projects with heavy mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural concrete, steel and HVAC work ahead of and on schedule and budget.
Experience
Experience includes, but is not limited to; waste and finish water treatment facilities, school, clean room, concert hall, museum, elevator, concrete restoration, WMATA rail and bus facilities, highway improvements, hospital, nursing home and hotel new construction and renovation projects. Experience extends to exterior facade, window restoration, roofing and waterproofing, sheet metal, and steel fabrication and various tenant and fit out improvements as well as the performance and management of inspection and site testing of unsuitable soils, reinforcement, concrete, masonry and structural steel. With this extensive experience Mr. Darling is aware of access constraints, protection measures, noise restrictions, night construction and a variety of field concepts, practices and procedures as applicable from open site to occupied and unoccupied facilities.

Mr. Darling re-joined the W. M. Schlosser Company in 2005 after his departure in 1998 as Senior Project Manager for the company to set up and manage the largest high profile projects since his return. Mr. Darling verifies estimates, provides stipulated plans, assembles and maintains schedules in Primavera (Suretrack and P3), sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, locates vendors and subcontractors, provides budget and schedule of values, writes purchase orders and subcontract agreements, mobilizes site facility requirements, secures permits, conducts project progress meetings, coordinates field forces with schedule requirements, proactively identifies and resolves discrepancies. With these responsibilities Mr. Darling serves as the focal point for the coordination of all project information between contractors, owner representatives, and client and field personnel providing leadership, support, direction and resolution through document control and administration working to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications for all including providing project status reports for upper management.
