SUMMARY
I am a professional engineer with over 12 years experience in the design and sales of concrete forming and shoring systems and 12 years of practical work experience as a concrete formwork and shoring carpenter.
EXPERIENCE
May 1996 to March 2009 PERI Formwork Systems. Sales engineer responsible for introducing a formwork manufacturer and its products within a sales territory where it was almost completely unknown. Established relationships with contractors and managed sales and rental contracts with relatively little outside supervision or support within geographical area that included Minnesota, North and South Dakota, northern and western Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and at times included Iowa. Annual revenue figures averaged a little under $1.5M with a maximum annual revenue of slightly more than $2M in 2005.
December 1991 to May 1996 Metropolitan Waste Control Commission which became the office of Metropolitan Council Environmental Services. Managed the competitive bidding process from preparation of bidding documents through the execution of the construction contract for all projects at the 7 wastewater treatment plants and interceptor sewer system serving the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. Generally had more than 30 construction contracts to bid per year as well as 5 to 10 equipment procurement projects. Took applications and qualified contractors each year to be included on the list of firms qualified to do emergency repair work. Contacted WBE, MBE, and SBRA firms to encourage their participation in the emergency contractors program and, whenever necessary, assisted them in preparing and submitting their applications.
October 1978 to November 1991 Adjustable Joist Co., Adolfson-Peterson Construction, Dun-Par Engineered Form Company, Knutson Construction Services, Kraus-Anderson Construction, Lunda Construction, M A Mortenson Construction, and other contractors. 13 years of work on a wide range of cast-in-place reinforced concrete projects in progressively more responsible positions starting as a journeyman carpenter, becoming a lead man/crew pusher and ending as a carpenter foreman.
