Senior Estimator: Full service bidding, from identifying new clients & soliciting projects through negotiating project award with clients. Project management from award through project closeout, project p&l responsibilities. Submitted over 1,560 bids, with sales totaling over $125 million. Bid projects to $4.3 million, average $900k. Managed over 75 projects to completion. Self-performed site, foundation, slab & structural concrete work. Solicited work from General Contractors and Developers. Identified potential new clients and pursued them. Solicited vendor quotes, negotiate mutually favorable terms upon project award. Assisted clients with preliminary foundation design, including constructability concepts, to establish budgets. Influenced upper management to reduce risk through diversification of work mix, from predominately big boxes to a wide mix of work and clients across many segments in the construction marketplace. Solicited vendors and subcontractors by submitting a weekly bid invite with a project bid list. This resulted in an increase of the number of quotes obtained, increasing estimator productivity and accuracy, and increased estimate / bid precision with a higher project profitability.

Concrete Estimator: Submitted bids, activities ranged from take-offs through bid submittal of self-performed activities. Performed pricing of change orders. Solicited quotes from vendors and subcontractors. Submitted over 360 bids, with sales totaling over $30 million. Bid projects to $18 million, average $500k. Assisted other specialty trades on an as needed basis, performed both masonry and drywall take-offs. Increased productivity by setting priorities through time & cost benefit analysis of bids vs. change orders.

Lead Estimator & Project Engineer: Organized bidding efforts, conducted quantity take-offs, solicited vendor quotes, and submitted bids, responsible for all 16 divisions. Established a marketing program. Submitted about 20 bids and was responsible for a small remodeling project. Choose where to advertise, coordinated the design and layout of the advertisement with publisher. Wrote two articles for publication as a marketing and public relations effort for the company (see Realty & Building, 10/14/95 & 12/23/95). Selected a Tele-marketer, and initiated direct mailings. Streamlined companys material management by analyzing the material flow in the companies warehouse, made recommendations to improve security and storage capacity, reduce handling, damage and pick errors.

Safety Representative: Attached to the Engineering & Construction Division. Designed, inspected & tested active and passive fire fighting systems. Evaluated and reported on both the departments and contractor safety performance, made suggestions on corrective action. Performed Hazard Assessment through Risk Analysis of various facility designs to align hazards to be within corporate levels of acceptable risk. Conducted site inspections.
