WORK EXPERIENCE

Project Engineer

Project assignment -- Lone Tree Creek Waste Water Reuse Facility sized at $29.5 million occupying a 45-acre site.

Responsibilities/Description:

Expedition: Coordinated submittal review process for all divisions. Also, created and maintained contacts, RFIs, change orders, and transmittals using both firm and web based platforms.
Auto CAD: Recreated architectural and engineering drawings for: Estimating a profile of quantities and types of materials for completion; Field Clarification 3D renderings. Constructibility feasibility and safety assurance.
Cost and Staff Tracking: Coded labor and material expense in conjunction with project progress and completion. Managed and documented all work crew, subcontractor, and employee activities on site.
Personnel and Construction Scheduling: Experienced with both Suretrak and Primavera Project Management software for activity schedules including construction CPM schedule, vendor installs, inspections, and for plant operator training/plant turnover. Scheduled, monitored and signed-off for subcontractors work prior to owner inspection.
Safety Inspections/Weekly Briefings: Presented weekly safety briefings. Safety concerns when discovered were always taken care of immediately. Routine documented inspections including equipment checklists, tagging scaffolding, fire extinguishers in required locations, required job signage clearly posted, equipment guards in place, PPE in correct use, fall protection being properly used (when applicable), ensuring lifting straps and bridals were properly maintained, tools and equipment in safe working condition, first aid kit fully stocked, etc.
Project Documentation & Surveying/Layout: Coordinated survey-layout of large equipment installs with engineering and manufacturers (Theodolite and Auto-Level). Management of project documentation such as certifications and submissions of O&M manuals, regulatory documents, approvals, etc.
Estimating/Bid Documentation: Forecasted the cost, size, and duration of potential projects. Review of preliminary plans, pre-bid walks evaluation of possible challenges, constructibility, and potentials for value engineering. Quantifying materials, equipment and labor needs, allowances for inclement weather, etc. Preparation of bid documents.
Value Engineering: Evaluating the application of materials, equipment, and designs to determine if any changes could be made that would contribute to ease of construction, cost savings to both owner and contractor, without a negative effect on the quality of the product.
General Construction Supervision: Routinely assessed construction quality ensuring all activities and installs were in conjunction with the plans and specifications for the project. This included concrete Q/C, instruction and evaluation of equipment installs, employee supervision and evaluations.
