PROJECT COMPOSITION
Summary
DELTA ENGINEERING, INC. (Jan. 2005 - May 2009) As a Civil/Structural field/engineering technician, I have worked professionally with other engineers in the process of preparing and designing for clients like Metra, Chicago Transit Authority, Chicago Department of Transportation, Illinois Department of Transportation, the OHare Modernization Project, and others. I have worked in the field to perform several different survey duties including but not limited to locating utility runs and their respective right of ways. I am familiar with Nikon and Sokia theodolite guns for field use. I am capable of general calculations for storm and sanitary sewer layouts along with storm detention storage calculations and structural bar sizing and bill of material. Also, I have experience with calculating quantities and cost estimates for both Civil and Structural areas. I am also familiar with city and/or village guidelines for generating other utility design and layouts and have worked closely with other engineers to generate civil and structural design plans. I am also extremely efficient with Autocad and Geopak to prepare utility profiles including storm, sanitary, water main cross sections, cut and fill, existing ground and road profiles.
Illinois Department of Transportation Topographic survey for I-355 extension project Topographic survey for I-294 improvement project IL Rte. 53 Northbound and Southbound Bridge Plans IL-394 Northbound and Southbound Rehabilitation Plans IL Rte.115 Three Double-Box Culvert Plans IL Rte. 9 Single-Box Culvert Plans
Illinois Department of Transportation - I-190 Improvement Project - For this project I worked closely with other surveyors to complete the topographic survey for I-190 improvement project which required the need to survey the exact location of the north and south rail in between the east and west bound I-190 traffic lanes. Most CTA involvement has been included into other related projects. Chicago Department of Transportation - Kinzie Street Retaining Wall Repair - For this project I solely generated design plans and shoring type and location along retaining wall along with other incorporated procedures to conduct proper retaining wall repairs.
Chicago Department of Transportation - 31st Street Bridge Repair generated structural shoring design plans to conduct proper bridge repairing procedures. This included field surveys of several different project locations for the City of Chicago, both residential and commercial. Scope of work included building staking to structure locating, manhole inspection, measure downs, level runs, etc.
OHare International Airport Existing Runway and Taxiway Survey for a New OHare Runway was involved with other colleagues on the OHare International Airport central and south detention basins, pump station and valve vault design and layout of structural, sections and details along with other related components to the storm water discharge system. This included a south cargo tunnel, pump station, detention chamber and valve vault reinforcement design and layout, as well as the south access road box culvert and wing wall design and layout for new location of cemetery access road.
Metra - Belmont Avenue Pump Station and Bridge Reinforcement Design participated with others to generated structural reinforcement design plans incorporating all components of the pump station, detention chamber, valve vault, details, sections, bill of materials etc. Chicago Transit Authority - South Access Cemetery Road Improvement - Followed CTA guidelines for the South Access Cemetery Road Improvement project primarily in the culvert area where the box culverts are to be installed due to the fact that the culvert runs beneath the railroad tracks.
C.M. LAVOIE AND ASSOCIATES, INC. (April 2003 - Jan. 2005) Field/Engineering Technician Prepared preliminary and final engineering site plan layouts for several Chicago land area projects both commercial and residential. Also, went in field with party chief to perform several different survey duties. (Able to operate several theadolite guns for field use). Made general calculations for storm and sanitary sewer layouts along with storm detention storage calculations. Also used city and/or village guidelines for generating other utility design and layouts. Worked closely with other engineers to generate architectural, utility, grading, erosion control design plans (including As-Built plans). Also prepared utility profiles including (storm, sanitary, water main, etc...). Cross sections, cut and fill, existing ground and road profiles where generated with the use of Paydirt and Autocad civil software. Some other computer skills include Excel, Word, Notepad, Office, etc. Also, extremely efficient with Autocad.
WEBSTER, McGRATH & AHLBERG (July 2001 - April 2002) Field/Engineering Technician Prepared preliminary site plan layouts for several Chicago land area projects both commercial and residential. Worked closely with other engineers to generate architectural, utility, grading, erosion control design plans (including As-Built plans). Also prepared utility profiles including (storm, sanitary, water main, etc...). Cross sections, cut and fill, existing ground and road profiles where generated with the use of Geopak and Microstation software. Some other computer skills include Excel, Word, Notepad, Office, etc. Also, extremely efficient with Microstation through V-8 and Model view software. (All architectural background required substantial use of Model View software).
CHICAGO WATER PARTNERS (Nov. 1998 - July 2001) Field/Engineering Technician - Field surveying and designing water mains for the city of Chicago and working closely with colleagues to replace existing water mains throughout the city of Chicago. Worked closely with party chief, field surveying all existing utilities pertaining to each individual project as a base for preliminary design and layout to accommodate new water main construction. Use of Sokkia instruments were utilized for all field survey data collection. Gathered measurements of all survey and sanitation invert elevations that would correlate with new water main design and installation. Prepared existing plan conditions and preliminary layouts. Depending on accuracy of office records, some field verification was required. Worked closely with project engineers along with other colleagues to design and layout new water main projects throughout the city to coincide with all existing utilities and services gathered from field data. Some miscellaneous duties included updating service plats, making microfilm, repographics, errands to city hall building commissioners office for preliminary review of plans, permits, bids, etc.
