Major projects include new medical campus, major addition to existing medical campus commercial construction, site development, industrial expansions, educational facilities, university work and State Ports facilities. Professional Service Industries, Inc., (PSI) Greensboro, NC (2004 2007). Branch Manager. Responsible for managing this geotechnical, environmental consulting and construction materials testing branch for PSI, a $200 million company. Have achieved 190% growth in two & one half years of management. Major projects include NCDOT bridge installations, commercial construction, site development, industrial expansions, educational facilities and university work. Perform as Project Manager for some of the larger projects requiring strong project and construction management skills.

TranSystems Corporation, Lenexa, KS (1997 - 2004). Engineering Owner Representative, Resident Engineer and Construction Manager of major railroad projects located throughout the United States. Provided all management and technical QA/QC oversight, project management, land development, client communication, supervision of field laboratory / engineering technicians, safety, contract administration and estimating. Projects / phases ranged from $2 million to $80 million.

Terracon Consultants, Lenexa, KS (1988 - 1997). Project Civil Engineer / Senior Construction Services Inspector. Performed QA/QC for all phases of construction materials and geotechnical observation. Performed geotechnical reports for major projects. As project supervisor, performed training of field and laboratory materials testing technicians. Construction value ranged to over $100 million dollars. Provided related services for this major materials testing and inspection firm for nine years.

Jean Cross Masonry, Tonganoxie, KS (1984 1988). Masonry Foreman/Contractor. Responsible for managing masonry crew (up to 15 men at times). As a partner in the family business, duties included complete estimating of projects including all masonry aspects of projects ranging from $1K to $5M.

Cheney Testing Company, Hill City, KS (1978 1984). Oil Field Testing Engineer. Provided senior materials testing services for this large testing and inspection agency in Kansas. Traveled a five-state region including Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Oklahoma and Missouri. Responsible for over 300 producing oil wells. Performed drill stem tests on oil wells during rotary rig operations.


MAJOR PROJECTS EXPERIENCE:

Novant Healthcare, Brunswick County Hospital (New facility), Supply, NC. Project Manager for Geotechnical exploration and Early Grading Package that included installation of deep foundations and earthmoving operations for 25 to 50 acre site.


Beaver Creek Commons Phases I, II, III & IV. Apex, NC. Provided Project management, adjustments to Geotechnical design when unforeseen conditions arouse, Certification of all Phases of construction. Project value estimated at $100 million.

Plantation Point, Raleigh, NC. Provided Project management, adjustments to Geotechnical design when unforeseen conditions arouse, Certification of all Phases of construction. Project value estimated at $100 million.

Napa Valley Wine Train Relocation Phases I and II. Napa, CA. Provided project management and owners representative on-site for two years during construction of this $200 million dollar project, within the jurisdiction of the Napa Valley Flood Control District. Project included reconfiguration of railroad tracks according to realignment of levees under the local Army Corps
of Engineers District purview. On-site project management duties continued into Phase II work which consisted of connecting the southern yard to match the new configuration south of town. The project also included a new maintenance shed, a new $4 million dollar commissary, pre-engineered steel building and replacement of two bridges over Napa River.

Sheaffield Junction Flyover Project, Kansas City, MO. Provided on-site project management of this $50 million dollar major railway installation project. Provided QA for 328 precast, prestressed, concrete girders designed for E80 loading. The new construction consisted of three structures for this Kansas City Terminal Railway, accommodating five different railroads.

Argentine Connection Flyover, Kansas City, MO. Provided on-site project management of this $60 million dollar major railway installation project. Phase I included the demolition of a 90-year old bridge while maintaining two active tracks. The new construction consisted of three structures for this Kansas City Terminal Railway, accommodating five different railroads.

10th Street Viaduct, Powder River Basin, Alliance, NE. Acted as resident engineer for Transystems during construction of this $12.5 million, 130 foot single deck bridge. A raised street system consisting of stabilized earthen walls was employed. The railroad remained active throughout the construction phase. 2001 2002.

Knoche Diesel Electric Locomotive Maintenance and Fueling Facility, Kansas City, Missouri. Acted as resident owners representative for Transystems during construction of this $20 million, new facility. Was responsible for all phases Kansas City Southern responsibilities and coordinated with General Electric Transportation Systems and Black and Veatch Consultants.

Various Rail improvement projects for the BNSF, Union Pacific, Kansas City Southern and the Kansas City Terminal Railroads and Railways. These projects ranged in values of 2 million to 10 million dollars. Projects were located from Texas to Nebraska and from Colorado to Tennessee.

Military base experience. Various projects located on military bases at Whiteman AFB, Richards Gerbauer AFB, Ft Leavenworth, Ft Riley, McConnell AFB and Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary.

Woodlands Horse and Dog Tracks, Kansas City, KS. Provided two years of on-site senior resident construction inspection of a $98 million dollar horse and dog racing tracks facilities. The project consisted of two separate grandstand and track structures sharing an 8,000 car parking lot.
