Objective : I would like to be considered for an Estimator/Detailer/Checker/Project Manager position.

I am experienced with estimating at both the material and fabrication level and the detailing/project management level. My take-offs are accurate and complete, so my pricing is very competitive for either hard-bid work or design/build negotiation.

In my career I focused on expertise in detailing and steel fabrication techniques, and I stayed current with AutoCad and the newer 3D and BIM technology. I would like to work in a team environment where I can use AutoCad and Tekla and other 3D BIM software. My skill in making and customizing graphic/report templates, layouts and in configuring drawings, along with my AutoCAD experience, will make me a valuable member from the start.

I have been drafting steel shop and engineering drawings since 1975, in every media, so I am familiar with many standards and I am very versatile and adaptable. I have owned AutoCad since 1994 and Tekla Structures since 2002. My current version levels are AutoCad 2010 and Tekla 16.0

As a Project Manager I take control of projects I work on by having kick-off meetings with both contractors and detailers where I produce red-line mark-ups of plans, addenda and specs. All detailing and managing is done from these mark-ups. This eliminates any scope, welding and detailing problems from the start.

I pursue RFIs and change orders when the plans are incomplete and/or inaccurate. This eliminates extra costs and potentially adds significant increases to original bid amounts.

I consider myself a hands-on worker, and I enjoy working on projects from inception to completion. When needed I will work on the floor checking layouts or do anything else required to ensure the quality of the final product. I take my projects very personally.
