Selected Accomplishments Implemented project costing system. Barrett required a better system for getting daily cost information from the project site to the office. Implemented HCSS heavy bid estimating software program, permitting personnel to submit from the field via PDA or computer. Allowed for daily cost estimates of project expenses. Reduced errors in project reporting. Comparisons on project quantities and discrepancies required phone calls with state and local agencies, a lengthy and error-prone process. Worked with MDOT and executed new software allowing Barrett access to project information and saving two days a week, ten of thousands of dollars per year. Salvaged complex project. Green needed a way to seal a large area at the bottom of a cofferdam in the Delaware River. Brainstormed situation, conferred with key contacts and formulated a plan to inject a gel to seal the base. Achieved repair without violating strict EPA requirements, and completed the project on time and within budget. Designed innovative solution for construction operation. Due to strict specifications for paving between tracks, E.S. Wagner faced a 20% loss on a railroad project. Invented a special method for paving between the tracks. Met specifications and cut project time in half, saving $600K on $3M paving operation. Developed cost saving site layout method. E.S. Wagner had a tight timeframe in which to lay out and excavate 280 acres. Devised new layout method for crew and automated excavation equipment using GPS, saving enormous time.
