PROFESSIONAL INTRODUCTION

Dear Sirs,

I am 13 year veteran safety professional seeking a stable position where I can continue my career and educational goals and continue to make a difference in the workplace for my employer. I have been a safety professional since 1996 and am seeking a position with you with an extensive background managing a variety of different safety environments such as power and manufacturing plants; the oil exploration industry and construction. I began my career in safety after suffering an on the job injury in the oil exploration industry that landed me in the hospital for 23 months while working as a rough neck. My safety manger of that company included me in my injury investigation and incorporated my ideas in their future accident prevention techniques through engineering controls. They encouraged me to turn this into a positive opportunity by pursuing a degree in occupational safety and health technology where they could utilize me as a consultant. I also received my Emergency Medical Technicians license, became a certified MSHA instructor and learned Spanish. I am now pursuing my graduate degree in Occupational Safety and Health Engineering with an emphasis in Human Resources and Environmental Engineering from Columbia Southern University of Alabama via correspondence. I have completed 133 hours of this 274-degree program and plan to finish in May of 2012. I will take the Board Certified Construction Safety and Health exam in May and the Certified Safety Professional exam in November and receive my board certifications as a CHST and CSP this year. I believe that I will make an excellent asset to your company with my current knowledge and experience along with the knowledge and credentials that I will gain in the next 36 months.

My career has led me all over most recently overseeing the $2.8 billion Revel Resort and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey for Tishman who is the construction manager for the Revel Entertainment. Due to a slowing economy Revel has decided to slow construction for the project and this is why I am actively seeking a position with your company. Previous to working with Tishman I supervised a $1.5 billion power plant where the project successfully achieved three million man-hours from April of 2007 to March of 2008 without a lost time accident, which has never been recorded in that short an amount of time in the history of tracking accidents in the work place according to OSHA and the ASSE. I have supervised as many as 30 other safety professionals on past projects. I have worked on cement plants, an airport terminal, a wind generating power station, three traditional power plants, 40 miles of 24 inch pipe line and the steel erection of the Arizona Cardinals new $450 million dollar NFL stadium. I feel I have been in my profession long enough that I would be one heck of an asset to your organization.

Most importantly I want to be in an environment where I can make a difference where innovative safety programs are taken seriously and everyone is actively envolved in the safety program and the safety department is seen as an asset to help maintain productivity with a solution oriented attitude in preventing accidents. If you have any questions or know of someone who could benefited from my expertise please feel free to forward this on to them
