ExperienceMarch 2007- November 2008 Teichert Construction Sacramento, CA Senior Project Manager Project Manager & Operations Manager for two separate $65 million and $56 million Interstate 80 Donner Summit Freeway Rehabilitation projects for Caltrans. Directly responsible for managing all project operations by supervising and directing, safety, quality, profitability and resources of production field operations through Superintendents and Project Engineers. Operations including 40,000cy drill and shoot roadway excavation. Drainage piping and boxes. Grading shoulder widening, 50,000 tons of AC paving overlay and 45,000 CY PCC paving. Manage and coordinate subcontractors for concrete retaining walls, concrete bridge replacement, electrical lighting and signage and white pcc paving. Develop and maintain positive relationship with the Resident Engineer that allowed a safe and very profitable project.
Highlights Successfully researched, submitted, negotiated and implemented a $500 thousand Cost reduction incentive proposal. Advanced and implemented a revised critical path schedule that literally broke the back of the project in the first season so the subsequent two years will be built with relative ease, reduced risk and increased profitability with reduced senior management staff. Devised and implemented means and methods to eliminate drill and shoot of rock excavation that resulted in net savings to project of $1million excluding upside risk. Directly responsible for consulting and help existing management team streamline and improve operations.
Dec 2006-Jan 2007 Shimmick Construction Co. Hayward, CA Project Manager Managed startup of the $25 million Seismic retrofit of the Stony Gorge Dam for the Bureau of Reclamation. During my short tenure I was directly responsible for establishing operational means and methods for highly technical pcc diaphragm wall buttress reinforcement. Highlights Procurement and setup of a portable concrete batch plant for producing concrete to tight BOR specifications.
