1972 to 1973 Senior Mechanical Field Engineer for Allied Gulf Nuclear Services. Responsible for: review work scope requirements for process equipment, piping, and on-site fabrication work. Helped resolve conflict design conditions with architect/engineer (Bechtel). Conducted on-the-job training for on-site instruction of various mechanical department crafts. Reviewed critical pieces of equipment for installation and erection problems. Wrote and illustrated installation guides for equipment placement and erection. As Mechanical Drafting department head, supervised and training eight mechanical pipe draftsmen. Reviewed and outlined scope requirements for all piping mechanical drafting work. Checked and reviewed all work performed by this department. Helped resolve piping problems with construction personnel. Worked closely with clients to ensure all revisions, both critical and non-critical, were issued and properly documented. Worked with quality control and mechanical department to control code requirements for this $160 million plant.

1971 to 1972 Plant Engineer/Senior Product Designer. Originated both the Plant Engineering and the Product Engineering departments. Initiated process design, feasibility studies, OSHA compliance and troubleshooting. Established new manufacturing and safety standards in three South Carolina plants. Research and development of new pollution control and water and sewage treatment products. Responsible for providing all engineering and quality control information of new products. Worked with sales and marketing groups on introduction, feasibility, cost and field trial of new waste and water treatment plants. Evaluated and updated all casts and pre-stressed concrete products for domestic use. Total sales $22 million.

RADER PNEUMATICS, MEMPHIS, TN & MONTREAL, QUEBEC
1969 to 1970 Senior Designer, Mechanical. Design of custom machinery and bulk material handling systems. Design of pneumatic conveyors, drives, chutes, bins, hoppers and feeders used in pulp and paper applications. Design and layout of piping process systems. Design of industrial facilities, work rooms, air and water pollution control products for pulp and paper mills. Worked on projects totaling $18 million in capital improvement expansions, pollution control devices for the following corporations: Boise Cascade Corporation, Oxford Paper, Scott Paper Company, Weyerhauser, Domtar Newsprint Ltd. Was also instrumental in designing the new dust and sawdust fines air pollution control filter system. Over 100 have been installed. The filter system utilizes an economical approach to environmental pollution and proposes to be a lucrative product.

Duties involved machinery design, plant layout, general drafting, plant modernization, assisted product development, packaging and merchandising, and point-of-purchase. Worked with Industrial Engineering Department in design of new food manufacturing plant. Assumed complete responsibility for all design work on new plant, $12 million in Southhaven, MS.

ITT TELECOMMUNICATIONS, MILAN, TN
1967 Industrial Engineer. Project Leader for the development and experimentation in using audio-visual aids for job instruction techniques. Developed technical illustrations and new assembly line techniques for electronic assembly. Worked on balance progressive assembly technique for assembling printed circuit boards that are key elements in electronic computer systems. Illustrated color-coded assembly charts for breakdown of work for operators. Increased production 40% and work errors were reduced by as much as 70%. Originated Audio-Visual department for developing in-plant training films, slides, and transparencies. This was put into use in classroom instruction for company policy, security regulations, policies and procedures of ITT. Research and development for telecommunication manufacturing; worked in ITT's first integrated-circuit and computer-controlled telephone switching system. Also worked on the Pentaconta A-1 new telephone switching system for Costa Rica.
