Average 50+ projects per year, with construction budgets ranging from $50,000 to several million. Duties include: assess facility needs, develop scope, commission projects, estimating, contract negotiations, contract writing, submittal and shop drawing review, routine site visits, change orders, process pay applications, close-out, consult with engineers, architects, and other professionals, liaison between corporate office and facilities. Recent projects have included: ground-up additions, interior renovations, therapy suites, Alzheimer care units, 100+ fire sprinkler systems, 70+ emergency generators, HVAC systems, kitchen renovations, plumbing and emergency management. Regional Director of Plant Operations2000 - 2003 Responsible for the oversight of Maintenance operations of 70 long term care facilities in six states along the East Coast. Approve all capital equipment purchases and repairs. Consult with and provide technical assistance to staff. Education and training of Maintenance Directors, assist with hiring and orientation. Liaison between facilities and Corporate Construction Services, contractors, and vendors. Perform routine inspections for regulatory compliance and to ensure buildings are maintained in accordance with company standards. Assist Regional Vice President with facility and region budgets. BEVERLY HEALTHCARE - NORTHSIDE, Atlanta, GA1994 - 2000 Director of Plant Operations1998 - 2000 Department head in charge of all aspects of Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Laundry in a 240 bed sub-acute care facility. Supervise 22 employees including two department managers. Responsibilities include regulatory compliance, coordination of contractors for renovation and new construction, training of personnel, scheduling, budgeting, record keeping, ordering parts and supplies, negotiating bids and contracts, LAN Administrator.
Maintenance Director1994 - 1998 Department head in charge of all aspects of Facility Maintenance. Primary initial goal was the establishment of JCAHO Accreditation. Designed and implemented preventive maintenance program, technical assistance to staff and sister facilities. MERCY HOSPITAL, Miami, FL1984 - 1992 Engineer II, Shift Supervisor Lead HVAC/Refrigeration technician for the Plant Operations Department in charge of working with design engineers and contractors on design and installation of new AC systems, training maintenance personnel in the operation and repair of HVAC equipment, budgeting, ordering and inventory of parts and materials. Responsible for: emergency back-up power (5 generators and 2 UPS units), the energy management system, 24-hour on call status for technical assistance, coordinating an effective preventive maintenance schedule.
