EXPERIENCE: 10/08 06/09 Kapstone, Summerville, SC Learned how to tear down and rebuild air and hydraulic cylinders. Learned how to rebuild and repack random bearings and various gear boxes. Welded on random heavy equipment such as LaTurno forklifts. Welded and fabricated handrails, stairs, catwalks, and platforms. Welded and repaired different size grapple. Repaired and rebuilt a drive shaft for a shaker screen which separates small wood ships from the larger wood chips. Replaced and rebuilt torsion arms and paddles for vibrating conveyors. Worked on and replaced shafts, sprockets, and chains. Replaced wear strip and guide rails for a chain conveyor. Replaced pins and bushings on a sharp top chain.
01/07 09/08 Force Protection Industries, Inc., Ladson, SC Fitter/welder in the armored blast-protected vehicle manufacturing industry. Certified overhead crane and jib crane operator. Worked on specialty vehicles for the Italian, British, Iraq, and American militaries which have been used to support armed forces and security personnel in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, and other hot spots around the globe. Built the Cougar, a family of medium Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP), which can be supplied in 4X4 or 6X6 layout. Used a ToughBook daily to read blueprints and emails in order to build the vehicles. Kept up with the constant design change on the vehicles. For some of the MRAP vehicles, worked on cell build by building the vehicle in full from an A side to a B side until the vehicle was finished. Worked on the vehicles under a new set up from the A side to the moving line to be completed in seven different cells on the moving line.

03/06 01/07 Schueck Steel, Huger, SC On-site contractor for Nucor Steel. Worked from eight hours a day up to twelve to fourteen hours per day, depending on the amount of work required in order to keep Nucor Steel up and running. Various job duties performed within Nucor Steel included welding, cutting, fabrication, and maintenance to keep the plant running. Certified in the following departments: overhead crane operator, fork lift operator, and man lift. Worked on bed rollers to building and repairing calm shells.
8/05 03/06 Mikell Towing Inc., Summerville, SC Handled towing for AAA, police departments, garages, and a variety of car lots. Involved in out of state transports of vehicles. Required to have a Department of Transportation physical.
1/05 8/05 Houston Crowder Wrecker Services, North Charleston, SC Towed for several different police departments which included accidents, arrests, and tow a ways. Learned to operate a hook and rollback truck. Responsible for daily paperwork which involved invoices, processing of vehicles from accidents, arrests, and tow a ways. Managed trucks and employees.
8/04 1/05 Anchor Sign, Charleston, SC Fabricated various aluminum and steel signs for companies such as Blockbuster, Starbucks, Extended Stay America, and Quizno Subs. Helped cut out, sew, and install the vinyl for the awning signs.
4/04 8/04 Howard Rigging Company, Inc., Saint Stephen, SC Remodeled entire structural component of the old Montgomery Ward into individual office buildings. Added a new wing to Montgomery Ward which consists of installing bar joist and re-fabricating I-beams and H-beams.

4/03 8/03 Summerville Steel Inc., Summerville, SC Structural Welder and Fabricator Worked on several projects for the College of Charleston, Mount Pleasant Town Centre, and a movie theatre out of Hilton Head Island fabricating and installing arches and bar joist.
3/03 - 4/03 Thompson Industrial Services, North Charleston, SC Hired for shut down work at Santee Cooper and SCE&G power plants. 4/02 - 3/03 Jacobs Applied Technology, Inc., Goose Creek, SC Began on second shift and several months later promoted to first shift. Assembled Structural steel for modules. After fabricating the steel modules, helped with assembling a pharmaceutical plant within Jacobs to be sent off for Eli Lilly. Worked well under pressure with having welds x-rayed and U.T. tested, as well as frequent visual quality checks. Certified in mig and stick welding. Involved in learning to read blue prints.
10/00 - 2/02 Terranova Forest Products, Charleston, SC Started as a temporary employee in October and became a permanent employee in December. Received a raise in February and August. Promoted from second shift to first shift in August. Maintenance of a variety of equipment throughout the plant on an every day basis. Operated different machinery as needed. Worked directly with the extraction system and truck bins.
