2005-January 31, 2009: DaimlerChrysler Corp Auburn Hills, Mi Gage Process Engineer Supplier gages: Part of a team comprised of Product, & Dimensional Control Engineers to include all hard/soft trim Parts, and sheet metal assemblies. Attend Design review meetings, insure that G, D, & T are properly used, and critical check points are included in gage. Approve design for build, monitor fixture inspection, and reports. Develop clamp sequence for Gage repeatability, and make changes to gage as necessary to pass test within specified tolerances. Maintain all gage records. Gage shipment, setup, and usage is the responsibility of Product Engineer, and supplier.
Gage Process Engineer Plant gages: Lead gage Engineer for gages used in Chrysler run plants. Same as above except my responsibility is to follow shipment, setup, and usage at plant,where as the above is the product Engineers responsibility.
2001-2005 DaimlerChrysler Corp. Auburn Hills, Mi New Model Tooling Estimator for Trim Chassis, Final and body shop tooling. Review Specification packages from the Process Engineer for clarity, and accuracy. Meet with suppliers to review quotations for design/build of controls, and tooling. Negotiate fair value; submit costs for issuance of a purchase order. Review changes after initial specification package, and supplier quotation, negotiate fair value. Attend classes, seminars concerning new technology for improvement in quality, cost, efficiency, safety. Attend group meetings to discuss common issues with my Chrysler counterparts to update knowledge base, and consistent supplier relationships. Develop cost studies for program budgets.
1999-2001 DaimlerChrysler Corp. Jeep Truck Engineering Plymouth rd. Detroit. Process Engineer, for bodyshop. Supporting Warren Truck assembly for Dakota Product, and Newark, Delaware for Durango vehicles. My responsibility consisted of lead Engineer for closure installation tooling (Hoods,fenders,doors,Liftgate). Attend product design reviews to develop robust G,D,&T hardpoints, and pin locations. Write specification package for supplier to quote tooling, and kick off at supplier. Provide access to product cad data for supplier. Attend supplier design reviews to insure tooling intent. Monitor build, certification, and repeatability testing. Manage installation, debug, and start-up on factory floor. Fine tune system to utilize maximum efficiency, and quality. 1997-1999 Daimler Chrysler Corp Pilot plant, Auburn Hills, Mi . Toolmaker/CMM operator. Worked with Process, and Dimentional Engineers to develop small hand apply tooling. Update, and re-work prototype fixtures, establish proper clamp sequence, and conduct repeatability tests using SMX Laser Tracker. Level, and certify protype tooling, make necessary machining changes for out of tolerance tooling.
1995-1997 DaimlerChrysler Corp., Warren Truck Assembly,Warren, Mi. Toolmaker Jig & Fixture Builder. Fabricate, Tune-in, and repair all assembly jigs & fixtures. Operate all machinery in tool room. Work closely With engineers in B.I.W., and T.C.F. during 01 Dakota launch. Was instrumental in solving tooling problems, and in fine-tuning fixtures. Responsible for providing time, and material estimates to Management, and or Engineering. 1990-1995 Chrysler Corp., Pilot plant Auburn Hills, Mi Toolmaker. Design, and build hand apply fixtures. Root cause tooling issues for the Body framer, sub-assembly fixtures, and fabricate fixture details on Mill, Lathe, Grinder.
1984-1990Chrysler Corp., Outer Drive Manufacturing Technical Center, Detroit, Mi. Journeyman Jig & Fixture builder, assembled, re-designed, and tuned-in Robo- Gate systems. Provided sketches for Engineers pertaining to design changes. Designed, and built all fixtures (small and large). Designed, and constructed Templates (form, and respot). Inspection & Layout, built 15 match metal Vehicles (complete vehicle held together with rivets, to prove design intent) I designed and fabricated manual fixturing, wrote trouble reports pertaining to fit, and or design errors, performed Initial part inspection,and held reviews with owners of subject part to determine effect.

1972-1983Bendix Machine Tool Corp. Warren, Mi Machine builder. Served in an extensive apprentiship program including 1000 hours each on Mills, Lathes,Grinders, Inspection, then moved onto the plant floor to buld special metal removal machinery. Responsiblities included ability to read/interput complex assembly drawings, set up initial machine bases, assemble, and mount sub assemblies, measure,bend, and install all lubrication/coolant/chip blowoff tubing,set-up cutter tools to master, and final tune in to gage.
