Work History
2001 - 2008 Sustainable Structures of Texas, Allen, TX Vice President
Collaborated with a team of talented individuals, artists, engineers and architects to design a Green Development themed on a tree farm transitioned into a mixed use development. Hosted design charrettes that produced a LEED Platinum Office Building Design, a variable width divided thoroughfare with an earth sculpture center median and development entries planted in wild flowers and native grasses, campaigned a design strategy with the local building authorities to allow high density building in exchange for open common areas and saved numerous old growth trees in the process of bringing new residential neighborhoods and a state of the art retail center to the community of Allen, Texas.
2000 - 2001 Hunt Construction Group, Orlando, FL Construction Manager for Hunt/Clark/Construct II Joint Venture
This project was the Phase V Expansion of the Orange County Convention Center having over one million square feet of show hall floor and related meeting and service facilities. Project value exceeded $500,000,000.
oI interacted daily with the Owner, Program Manager for the Owner, A/E Team and Project Executive. oDirected a Project Management Team consisting of eight Senior Project Managers with a support staff of over forty people. Consistently met an agreed upon schedule while assisting the A/E Team in the coordination of developing documents. Wrote scope of work for contracting with sub-contractors. Reviewed specifications. Updated schedules. Managed sub-contractors.
1994 - 2000 Emerson Partners Inc., Dallas, TX Construction Manager
Tasked with the design and development of infrastructure and roads in new commercial office parks as well as development of design and construction of office buildings..
oAssembled and coordinated A/E design teams in the development of office warehouse facilities. oReviewed and approved specifications. oCreated budgets from concept designs. oSolicited bids from general contractors. oManaged the construction of office/warehouse buildings in Dallas and Austin, Texas. oPerformed and/or contracted for environmental and building condition assessments for properties under consideration for acquisition.
1966 1994 Work Experience during these years include:
Eighteen months managing an Indefinite Quantity Contract for the US Navy on the Island of Guam. Over 80% of the $15,000,000.00 work contracted was for repairs to structures from the five typhoons that struck Guam the previous year.
oProjects included Navy housing and barracks. oHospital repair and remodel. oStructural repairs to air craft hangers, wharf facilities and high security installations. oMissile servicing facilities. oNuclear sub base upgrades.
Five years with a major banking institution managing improvements to property acquired in the Savings and Loan failure of the 1980's.
oDuties include property condition assessments. oAsbestos abatement. oManagement of Environmental Impact Reports contracted to third party engineering firms.
Nine Months in Saudi Arabia and England installing 32 meter earth/satellite stations designed for communications and military defense systems. oStructural steel erection to 10 plus stories. oControl systems installation. oTechnical systems testing.
