SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
I have over 17 years of proven civil engineering design and project management experience, including municipal utility projects, water/wastewater, hydrology/hydraulics, land development, streets/roads, storm water compliance, wastewater treatment, pumping systems, grading/drainage and overall project mangement. I have successfully served a Project Manager and Engineer for numerous projects throughout Arizona, North Dakota and Minnesota. Also serving as the City Engineer/Representative for many communities and/or public entities for more than 10 years, always striving to provide simple and cost-effective designs to eliminate the problems or issues at hand, resulting in overall cost savings to the Owner. In 2004, I was presented with an opportunity to start the workings of an engineering firm that would provide engineering design and construction management services to any number of clients, public entities and private developers. I was able to secure work from both known and unknown clients that produced a substantial net profit for Municipal Engineering, Inc. throughout the life of the business. A recent assignment provided the opportunity for me to design, assemble and complete plans for the grading/drainage (Phase I) and the utilities/roadways (Phase II) for a proposed ethanol plant located in SE North Dakota. The successful plans and subsequent construction management solidified possibilities that future sites would be granted to MEI. In 2007, a large scale residential land development project provided my first opportunity to work with the design standards and governing agencies of Maricopa County and the State of Arizona. I served as the Project Manager and Designer for this project, providing many design solutions and calculations for drainage and storm sewer retention, drainage pipe capacity, sanitary sewer piping, water main pipe capacity and fire flow coverage, roadway capacity and structural pavement designs. I served as the Design Engineer for a public project that involved environmental hydrology issues in order to resolve the repeated overflow of a drainway that flowed through an established residential neighborhood. We resolved this problem utilizing a series of retention and detention ponds. This was completed utilizing a storm sewer design program named Hec-RAS as developed by the US Army Corp of Engineers. We were able to provide the necessary combination of retention and detention for the given storm water flows to prevent flooding of the downstream floodway.
