PROJECT MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE

Septic System Designs. (Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont). Coordinated projects from preparing contract to implementation, including soils evaluation, wetland delineation, design, and state permitting. The designs were then inspected for completeness and tested to meet performance standards and certification requirements. These projects were reviewed and approved by a supervising professional engineer.

Marlboro College Treatment Chemical Additives. Designed and obtained a permit for the addition of nutrients and bases to increase the anaerobic activity within the recirculation tanks to meet the prescribed discharge standards for BOD, TSS, TKN, E. coli, and NTU. Prepared the Operations and Maintenance manual.

Subdivision Designs. (Several 2 to 40 lots - New Hampshire and Vermont). Met with clients, attended meetings, and followed projects from inception to completion. Coordinated with surveyors and landscape architects. Designed roads, lots, septic systems, and connections to municipal sewage collection systems. Obtained state and local permits, including ACT 250 submittals. Responsible for wetland delineations and permitting and storm water design and permitting.

Municipal Sewage Collection. Designed a management plan for 5,900 feet of roadway, sanitary sewer, storm drains, and storm water.

Sewer Forcemain. Cersosimo Lumber Plant to Brattleboro Waste Water Treatment Plant (1.2 miles). Designed a dual alternating pump station, back-up power supply, and forcemain.

Storm Water Permitting. Wrote Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans for multiple industrial sites and subdivisions under the new Vermont Multi Sector General Permit. All plans were reviewed by a professional engineer.

River Analysis. Analyzed for scour at bridges and high water elevations for a new box culvert in Keene, NH and the St. Johnsbury, Vermont bike path using Hec Raz.

Wetland Delineation and Permitting. Delineated wetlands under state and federal guidelines to avoid impacts. Obtained permits from state and federal regulators when impacts could not be avoided.

Construction Inspection.
Septic System Installations. Directed repairs or modifications as necessary. Prepared follow-up certification letters.

Marlboro College Waste Water Treatment Facility. Inspected the installation of the innovative waste water treatment (including recirculation tanks, textile filters, UV treatment, sewage disposal leachfield area, and effluent testing). Conducted annual inspections of operation and maintenance procedures as required by the Indirect Discharge Permit.

Road Inspections. Inspected the construction of a re-designed intersection in Brattleboro, including soil compaction testing, installation and testing of new water mains, sidewalks, pavement, and drainage.

Sewer and Water. Forcemain from Cersosimo Lumber Plant to Brattleboro Waste Water Treatment Plant. Inspected the installation of forcemain from a new dual alternating pump station, including dewatering, pipe installation, and wetland preservation.

Brattleboro Sewage and Water Replacement for Mountain Home Park (270 Homes). Inspected the installation of new water, sewer mains and water and sewer services to each home including all testing, installation of storm water drainage and pavement. Performed erosion control inspections and reports as required by the ACT 250 permit.

Traffic Study. Prepared a detailed traffic impact analysis for the Bridge #37 reconstruction project. Performed a roundabout evaluation comparing the roundabouts in Duxbury, MA, Montpelier, VT, and Brattleboro, VT. The purpose of the study was to determine the current level of service and operating parameters for a thesis for a masters degree in civil engineering.
