It is only due to the long-term economic volatility (resulting in downsizing, layoffs, mergers, and business failures) that I have held positions at numerous companies. Back Chainman & Research Person
As a back chainman I learned the fundamentals of survey, and the basics of courthouse research. This was the start of my extensive experience. I learned in the time before data collectors and lasers.
Tait Engineering and Land Surveying (1986-1996)
Head Chainman/Rodman Instrument man and Party Chief
Learned to run most makes and types of surveying instruments.
Started on the earliest forms of data collection systems, (like the Toms-Rom and Super Rom also the Topcon FC1.)
As a Party Chief I was responsible for numerous construction projects including The Heights of North Park, Karrington woods Phases 1 thru 4, and the resurfacing of Cargo 1 runway at the old airport.
Directed work on major topographical surveys like Robert Morris College and South Hills Village Mall.
Bock and Clark Land Surveying (1996-2001)

Responsible for Alta land surveys in PA, NY, KY, and Ohio.
During my time at Bock and Clark I learned to perform research in all of the states previously mentioned, and accepted the responsibility for running crews out of town.
Overseen day to day operations like deed work and boundary calculation.
