Director Construction Management

I manage all construction related activities on all new store projects and remodels. I also established the construction management department for a large rapidly growing big-box retailer.

I am the first person in company history to deliver over 500,000 sq. ft. of new retail stores on time and most of them ahead of schedule by as much as 45 days.

I have completed multiple projects valued over $60 million within budget and produced a cost savings in excess of $6 million.

I developed company policies and procedures for the construction department, organized company interaction and greatly improved project communications which also eliminated errors and reduced overall operational costs.

I developed prototype for new store models and established store branding along with a complete project manual with all details to duplicate new stores to match prototype standards.

I specialized in management of commercial construction projects. I developed and managed a wide variety of projects for my clients such as store remodels, new restaurants, and big box projects. I directed project management activities and had full profit/loss responsibility on all projects.

I was the first to create accurate project photography linked to project plans allowing secure viewing by participants 24/7 resulting in fewer project errors, more deadlines met and far fewer change orders.

I developed clear methods of reviewing project correctness as it relates to building codes to avoid errors, save time and lower project costs.

I also performed regularly as Owners Representative by maintaining clear communications between all parties. I managed all project phases starting with site selection to close-out, including oversight of Architects, Contractors and other associates.

Vice President / Regional Construction Manager / Project Manager

I served as Regional Operations Manager and Vice President for Western United States overseeing clientele and construction management projects and while there;

I was the designated representative for local and regional trade associations. I coached and supervised multiple team members.

Additionally I was responsible for corporate marketing and management, business development, client relationships, contract negotiation and project management. I also managed annual budget, operating financials and expense approvals.

I designed customized proposals and presentations as required. I produced all materials and presentations for clients and Requests for Proposals (RFP) including corporate facilities, office, industrial, energy, retail and restaurant construction project portfolios.

I developed a secondary revenue source by starting a property inspection business which provided residential and commercial property inspection services to thousands of clients.

I lead an eight year, $75 million, biomass energy project to supply power to California which was completed on time and on-budget.

I managed multiple commercial development projects ranging from small Tenant Improvements to larger Build-up and Build-out projects of $100k to over $5 million respectively.

I established Western United States regional commercial construction firm providing construction management and development to corporate clients and high net worth clients throughout the USA.

I managed all construction activities for multiple energy/power related projects primarily in Military, Aerospace, VA Hospitals, School and other Government sectors.
