Assigned as Office Engineer for a $8 million complex pedestrian ramp project that consists of installing new handicap ramps to meet the current specifications as well as new sidewalk, catch basins, pipe connections new street lamp posts throughout the Bronx. Position consists of distributing over 300+ drawings of locations in the Bronx in various community boards, Recording minutes of meetings, logging and checking quantities of the inspectors reports, contacting NYCDDC quality assurance bureau daily with the work schedule. Communicating with the contractor regarding monthly estimates and quantities, packaging monthly estimates and handling certifications. Also worked as inspector on occasions when inspectors were not available.
NYCHA Corridor Improvements

Worked out of Gandhis main office to create database for NYCHA inspections of exterior brickface, air condition requirements for various housing projects throughout the Bronx. Was able to create this database ahead of schedule.

Assigned as Office Engineer on a $4 million contract with 168 contract items that consists of constructing a step street, secant and retaining walls, sewer and water main installations, constructing new sidewalks and curbs as well as pedestrian ramps, this project also consists of installing new street lighting. Also worked as inspector when inspectors were not available (ie. Nighttime time and material operation). Prepared and organized change orders for additional items not included in contract.

Reconstruction of I-95 Bruckner Expressway/Throggs Neck Interchange

Office Engineer for $32 million contract which duties included overseeing the daily reports for over 8 inspectors where the work consisted of major excavation to install a new drainage system using reinforced concrete pipes, backfilling and temporarily restoring the existing shoulders and roadway in preparation to permanently reconstruct using a high friction aggregate for the concrete overlay.
This project involved major traffic switches as this project consisted of 5 major stages. The construction of a new lighting system, overhead sign structures, asymmetric concrete barriers, and extensive landscaping was also included in this project. Prepared bi-weekly payment estimates well over $50,000 each using the state CEEs program. Maintained various office records. Preparing and organizing multiple change orders for items not included in the contract.

Office Engineer on a $3 million contract which duties included reviewing the daily inspector reports for accuracy and payments in order to process the monthly payments for the contractor as work progressed. This project included sewer and water main work, reconstructing new pigmented sidewalk, curbs and pedestrian ramps. New street lighting, landscaping, and colored pavers for building corridors were also included in this project.

Assistant Office Engineer/Inspector- A.O.E. duties included creating computerized correspondence log, monitoring shop drawings, checking inspectors reports for quantities and compliance with contract plans and specifications. Assisting O.E. with sampling, certifications, payment procedures.
General inspector duties consisted of covering field operations unsupervised such as placement of concrete, demolition and installation of new structural steel, painting of structures, installation of massive reinforcement bars, installation of various ornamentals such as fencing and railings, architectural and landscaping. Covering various items and reporting for accuracy of plans and specifications. Making large payments for completed work. Performed all testing procedures for concrete such as air, slump and cylinder series. Calibration of the torque wrench for checking the tightness of high strength bolts. (Contract value $160,000,000).
Note: Also worked out of design office for 1 year Assigned on projects for biannual inspections Whitestone Bridge, Queensboro Bridge. Assistant field inspector for Manhattan Bridge- Contract 8.

Assistant O.E./Inspector Duties consisted of processing contractors monthly cost estimates with the NYSDOT CEES computer program and all other office engineer duties. Field inspection of major operations involving concrete, structural steel, asphalt, painting, reinforcement, masonry, pile driving, installation of new machinery and electrical systems. (Contract value $40,000,000). (Started as secretary, sent to JUMP to train as construction inspector, also 1st. female to be trained in both inspection and office engineering as requested by NYSDOT)
