Professional Experience March 2008 to Present I was laid off from Bright Homes on 3/26/08 due to the poor housing industry and economy. I had not taken any time off for several years, so I thought that this would be a good time to do so, however, I am now actively searching for employment.
Director of Residential Operations Bright Homes, Modesto, CA March 2007 - March 2008 My responsibilities at Bright Homes included all of the same responsibilities as those of the last company I worked for, but on a smaller scale. There were approximately 15 employees reporting to me.
Director of Residential Operations Ranchwood Homes, Merced, CA April 2005 - February 2007 My responsibilities at Ranchwood Homes included the management and overall supervision of construction, customer service, purchasing, land development and maintenance of house plans to include periodic updates regarding the Title 24 regulations as well as changes in code enforcement. I worked closely with sales, marketing, and the escrow departments to ensure smooth transitions from the time of the sale, through the formal presentation to the customer, to the close of escrow. There were approximately 75 employees reporting to me. Vice President of Operations Meritage Homes, Active Adult Division, Phoenix, AZ December 2004 - March 2005 My responsibilities within the Meritage Active Adult Division in Arizona included construction, customer service, administrative personnel, and purchasing. There were 17 employees reporting to me at that time. Purchasing was a major part of my responsibilities as I re-priced all of the communities to establish greater budget control in this ever changing industry. I was very involved with establishing local, regional and national vendor rebate programs and was extremely successful in that endeavor.
Director of Operations US Home/Lennar Corporation, Phoenix, AZ June 1998 - November 2004 I was responsible for all of construction, customer service, and purchasing. Sixty people reported to me and we delivered 850-950 homes per year. I had the responsibility of training all construction associates and supervised the training of all customer service and purchasing associates. I was involved extensively with all local, State, and Federal agencies and was the licensed qualifying party in the state of Arizona covering the US Home Phoenix and Tucson Divisions. Part of my purchasing responsibilities was to negotiate and set up local, regional, and national rebate programs. I regularly worked with customers one on one with regards to any issues that may have arisen during construction of their new home by addressing and resolving them quickly.
