I progressed through various position levels in the business, beginning as a lumber delivery driver, and most recently serving as a plant manager. I have over eight years of millwork experience with a skill set emphasis in millwork takeoffs, customer service and computer knowledge. 3/06-12/08 Plant Manager, Mid-States Millwork Lenexa, KS
As a plant manager, I supervised all aspects of the manufacturing process, provided leadership to the hourly manufacturing staff and achieved productivity goals. I was able to motivate and instruct employees as well as administer discipline when necessary. I developed and established defined goals and achieved those results with the plant workforce. I was responsible for the assignment of personnel to specific jobs, while ensuring that goals were met and that workforce was operating within safety guidelines. I was responsible for consistency, productivity, quality control, safety and development of the work staff. I was responsible for making sure that all employees had an understanding of all work rules, policies and procedures.
10/03-1/06 Sales Representative, Builder Resource/McCray Millwork - Merriam, KS
I was an outside sales representative for McCray Millwork for three months. Prior to that, I served as an inside salesman for two years, which consisted of fielding phone calls from outside salesmen and customers, as well as taking millwork orders. I was heavily involved in addressing issues with delivery scheduling and order corrections. I have extensive experience in millwork take offs, and have been completing my own millwork take offs of windows, exterior doors and trim, for over three years. I have also taught and supervised the training of new salesmen in doing millwork take offs. In the time I was with this company, I went through two buyouts and two new operating systems (Falcon and Trend). I was considered an expert when it came to all questions pertaining to the latest operating system.
4/02-10/03 Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, Builder Resource - Merriam, KS
In 2002, I was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the receiving area, which consisted of windows, exterior doors and millwork products. I was responsible for training and managing all receiving associates in company guidelines and procedures. Additional duties included overseeing and participating in the timely receipt and distribution of all incoming and outgoing deliveries according to company standards, making certain that all shipping and receiving functions that affect the companys inventory were processed accurately by verifying purchase orders and ticketing, as well as auditing the validation and verification reports. Furthermore, I had to ensure the accurate processing of all returns-to-vendors (RTVs), charge backs, transfers and damages based on company policies and procedures.
11/01-4/02 Millwork Dispatcher / Driver Supervisor, Builder Resource- Merriam, KS
Prior to my Shipping and Receiving responsibilities, I was the millwork dispatcher. On a daily basis I had to practice exemplary telephone and customer communication skills, in addition to an excellent familiarity of the Kansas City metro area, to successfully in route all millwork drivers to job sites on time. I was in charge of organizing of all day-to-day deliveries, tracking drivers time cards to assure their compliance with company expectations in regard to overtime budgets. Keeping all trucks up to date on service and maintenance was also part of my responsibility. As dispatcher, I was in charge of keeping drivers updated on all company rules and regulations.
