This 80 Acre property is an environmentally challenging remediation & restoration project under the regulatory oversight of the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board (LARWQCB) and California Dept of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC).
The current Removal Action calls for Excavation and Disposal of approximately 270,000 cubic yards of contaminated soils from 19 delineated below grade sump areas, AND Replacement with clean coarse sand & gravel AND Site grading of approximately 650,000 cubic yards of clean fill for storm water control. The aim is to redevelop the POLB property for future use that has treated or beneficially reusable non-contaminated soil. It also involves Disposal of contaminated groundwater and Ensuring that groundwater beneath the site is not further impacted.
Construction of a temporary parking lot and later a new permanent parking lot, both with marina facilities and utilities.
Installation and maintenance of two multiphase extraction and treatment systems.
SWPPP - Storm water management systems including three Storm water detention basins.
Construction of three access roads and widening of existing Shore Road; Hydro-Seeding.
