OPERATIONAL EXPERIENCE: eStyle, Inc., Los Angeles, CA Director, Store Construction & Facilities, 2003 2008 Lead the Store Planning, Design and Construction team at a new-concept specialty retailer, successfully building and opening 19 babystyle stores in California and throughout the country within the past four years. Orchestrate the efforts of the architects, general contractors, material vendors and internal departments to ensure store-opening schedules remain on time and on budget. Negotiate with outside suppliers to secure favorable pricing on all owner-supplied items (OSI) lighting, flooring, fixtures reducing material costs by 20% during the subject time period. Responsible for the timely purchase of OSI, ensuring all materials are ordered and delivered in concert with published construction schedules. Confer with architects, vendors and general contractors in reviewing architectural plans for accuracy and sufficiency; coordinate with construction superintendents and vendors to resolve OSI delivery/scheduling issues. Review architectural plans for value-engineering opportunities, reducing construction and OSI costs wherever possible changes made on both an ad hoc and go-forward prototype basis. Work with construction superintendents on-site in the several days leading to store turnover to ensure construction, inspections and punch list items are completed. Deliver store to Store Operations team following construction and punch list completion. Coordinate with internal departments ensuring that the stores are constructed in accordance with company design requirements: meet regularly with department heads of Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, IT, Marketing to incorporate needs and preferences within budget parameters; work with architects to incorporate resulting changes into architectural plans. Secure Construction Allowances from landlords following store opening: coordinate with landlords, general contractors and internal departments to draft, assemble and submit requisite documentation. Responsible for retail store maintenance program, personally fielding and processing all maintenance requests from the different babystyle stores. Work with store managers, district managers and outside contractors to maintain stores in excellent operating condition.
Director of Marketing, 2000-2003 Managed the print advertising program for the babystyle brand for publications such as Fit Pregnancy and American Baby as well as patron database-driven e-mail marketing program. Developed cross-marketing partnerships with other e-commerce companies to increase babystyles brand awareness and customer database. Served as project director for the eStyle.com Classic, an annual womens professional tennis tournament hosting 50,000 attendees over a 10-day period. Responsible for all title-sponsor logistics and operations. Managed babystyle and kidstyle grass-roots marketing programs, coordinating exhibitor displays at national fairs.
