  • Consistently and rationally moved the organization towards a common direction.

  • Served as soundboard for the C.E.O. to foster new ideas.  Exploited the ideas that could be developed and poked holes in those that didn’t have the potential to meet the end goal.

  • P&L responsibility with quarterly presentation of financial results to the Board of Directors.  In addition to operations, responsibilities included financial reporting and accounting, human resources, information technology, risk management, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, taxes, administration, building and vehicle maintenance, acquisitions, and any incidental issues that may have presented themselves.

  • Hire-to-date results included increases of Revenue 260% and Net Income 650% respectively.

  • Created a management tier consisting of Contracting, Service, Manufacturing and Controls department leaders. Responsibilities included leading them to develop and support their team members.  Also, guided them to produce annual business plans and budgets for presentation to the Board of Directors for approval, then armed them with the resources to meet or exceed their goals.

  • Hired a Marketing group and together we created and implemented a marketing plan that targeted the industrial refrigeration market and desirable employees.  Accomplishments include creating and publishing www.altarefrigeration.com, a “Welcome Package” that introduces ALTA to prospective customers, trade show displays, paraphernalia and internal motivational pieces.  Return on investment during the first year exceeded 300% with one new customer relationship that otherwise would not have been obtained.

  • Implemented a Human Resources Department and set pre-employment procedures, job descriptions, a formal review process, created an employee manual and developed policies designed to build a culture of trust and shared values. Employee satisfaction increased 68% in 2017 compared to a baseline established in 2010.

  • Replaced the project engineering team with members capable of owning the project from sales transition to start up.  Instituted a transition meeting between sales and project management, created a project schedule template, and conduct weekly progress meetings with sales and fulfillment team members.

  • Appointed a Health Safety and Environmental Director to identify and mitigate safety risk factors and maintain compliance with OSHA standards.  Assigned duties which include conducting job hazard analysis, implementing required engineering or administrative controls, and inspections for compliance.

  • Completed multiple large-scale internal projects, each with the focus of automating processes and eliminating redundant operations. Right sizing the business had a bottom-line positive impact of $1.2 million annually.  

  • Converted information systems to Field Ease for service functions and Computer Ease for general ledger, job cost, and inventory.  Implemented SAP Concur for expense management and SiteDocs for field communication and compliance documentation.  Introduced virtual servers and redundancy to the IT mix and established off-site backup.

  • Identified, documented, and disseminated the Vision, Mission and Core Values of ALTA Refrigeration.    

  • Used Sarbanes-Oxley style documentation procedures to understand purchase-to-pay, order-to-cash, payroll, financial reporting, IT, and human resource functions of the organization.  Designed and implemented the proper internal controls and identified significant savings opportunities.

  • Assisted in the patent process for a proprietary product developed internally.  Constructed and acquired 70,000 sq/ft of facilities and built a successful manufacturing business.
