Cives Steel Company's origins were in Gouverneur NY. The steel fabricating plant built in 1952 was known as Gouverneur Iron Works, and it grew from a small facility servicing local Miscellaneous and Ornamental steel projects, to a modern structural fabrication plant capable of supporting major construction projects in the northeast. Northern Division supplied structural steel to rigorous quality standards for many of the nuclear power plants built in the 1970s and 1980s. Over the years this facility has also fabricated coal and natural gas fired power plants, ductwork, commercial and industrial buildings, stadiums and several world class high rise towers. Recently refurbished, Northern Division is a modern state of the art steel fabrication facility that continues to thrive on architecturally challenging, complex steel structures.
