Company Description:
What We Do Natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires and earthquakes occur with regularity. Though we cannot predict with accuracy "when" and "where" the disasters will occur, we can predict that they "will" occur somewhere and with frequency. More often than not, natural disasters leave people of all walks of life homeless. Studies have calculated that over 140 million people have been left temporarily homeless due to the impact of natural disasters over a 20 year period. There is a need for safe, environmentally friendly temporary housing that can be transported and assembled quickly, with few workers, using standard hand tools, and at a reasonable cost. First Response Structures (FRS) has engineered a rugged panelized ReadyShelter constructed with wheat/rice strawboard panels to aid the emergency/disaster managers in recovery planning for people (including the aged and disabled) that are victims of disasters. A limited number of two-bedroom ReadyShelter temporary houses are palletized, pre-positioned and available with occupancy kits and furniture packages for deployment to help the victims of the next natural disaster.
