Company Description:
Although IEDC is a relatively new organization, our committment to the field of economic development is reflected in the collective histories of AEDC and CUED. AEDC began in 1926 as a meeting of Chamber of Commerce-based industrial development staff, and formally launched as the American Industrial Development Council in 1930. Emerging in 1967 as a response to the ills of urban decline by officials from 15 cities, CUED promoted the idea that city governments should take a lead role working with their local allies in the business community to maintain and build their economies.
